With Collier canceling her meeting with Engelbert next week over denying saying most of what Phee said...this is not going to end well for Cathy.
The whole unrivaled thing is so bad. Yes, it's competition, but it's 3 on 3, can you imagine a 3 on 3 men's league in the Summer after playing an 82 game schedule? And I agree about Stewart and Phee having stake in the rival league. However, I do believe Englebert said some of the stupid sh$$ she's been accused of saying. And I think we all agree the officiating is awful and it's been awful forever. I just can't see how she survives this mess.Unrivaled is competition for the WNBA, if I were wnba leadership or an owner I would want them to go away. If that means buying them out then that’s what I’d do. Either way they would not exist if I’m negotiating a new cba with the players union, and Bri Stewart and Phee wouldn’t be part of this conversation jor any conversations until they no longer have anything at stake with their rival league.
I keep hearing and reading that Kathy should step down as commissioner. Why would the owners want that to happen. Remember she works for them, right now it’s advantageous to have a combative attitude while negotiating. Plus Kathy can be used as leverage to sign a new cba. Example Kathy steps down, we’ll give you this.
TLDR version: the wnba is sprinting towards a lockout heads down and into that brick wall. There are to many contentious issues and by the sounds of it they aren’t close. It’s honestly a completely wnba move to strike right as they finally get some momentum. They continually cut of their face to spite their nose.
As for buying out the Unrivaled League, I don't think Adam Silver would approve that. He's been the financier of the WNBA for years, and the "W" has never turned a profit.Unrivaled is competition for the WNBA, if I were wnba leadership or an owner I would want them to go away. All the more reason to buy them out, or ensure in some other way that league doesn’t exist. It is in the W’s best interest to not have their star players play in a “rival” league. Do you think any team owner likes the idea of their players potentially getting hurt during the offseason. As for buying out the Unrivaled League, I don't think Adam Silver would approve that. 1. No I can’t imagine that because the players in the NBA aren’t allowed to do anything like that, it’s written in their contracts. The whole unrivaled thing is so bad. SIAP where Fever are interested in signing Kate Martin. Not sure if this has been mentioned.

Deservedly soAja with 17 ft attempts with 8 minutes left in the game. Phoenix has 14 as a team.
