Does anyone know if he’s a dual threat qb and if so is he quick as well as fast as a runner like Sully last year? We just need a super mobile qb like OSU , Michigan, Washington and Oregon… granted Iowa doesn’t have the NIL Money in which I hate but there’s got to be a good qb out there that can rejuvenate this stale scheme that KF is and has been running for decades … I would love to get another Drew Tate or Brad Banks - damn that would be too easy though… hopefully this upcoming week off helps the Hawks mended up and healthy and get MG back on the field asap

From what I have read 5-11 170 and more of a pocket passer. Seems to have a lot of positive remarks.

He has scramble ability, with a quick release. He has issues with being a gunslinger (which is probably why Kirk doesn't play him).
Yah, that's why Kirk went with Jake Christensen over Ricky Stanzi. KF is nothing if not consistently oblivious to the nature of the QB position in particular and modern offense in general. He also fails to realize that being so conservative is far riskier than taking intelligent "risks"--i.e, throwing the football more than 10 yards down the field. Give KF another 27 years and maybe he'll figure it out.

I have heard he is very athletic(most in the QB room?). I think it was a Corey Brada interview... Jeremy did say he would rather throw the ball than run... That he liked to sling the ball.

From my swiss cheese memory, it did sound like he could be a runner... I today's offenses, if you can't run, and run smart, your team is going to have issues. Medoza ran the ball. And they are winners.

Mendoza CAN run, but in reality, he doesn't run much. 20 ypg. He's obviously got great arm talent. I don't really care if a guy is a great runner. I want to guy with good pocket awareness, can move around back there, and if necessary can pick up a first down when things break down. First and foremost he needs to be able to sling it.

Lester had high praise for him during his presser. I trust him to put the most complete QB out there if Mark is out. Which is sounding like he's going to be for the Wisconsin game.

Perhaps somewhat like a Drew Tate? Not a necessarily a runner but can definitely move around to create time and can take off if needed.
Drew Tate was a great escape artist! His spin move in the backfield when under pressure was the best in college football. He made so many great end rushers look stupid. Loved that about Drew.
Hopefully, Jeremy has that as well.

every time someone posts a thread with a player's name as the title, I just assume they've entered the portal. :ROFLMAO:
PTSD? I don’t blame you as I get that way gloom and doom … f’ing Iowa needs to grow a pair and play tough and rough football and knock some heads around as they proved they can hang with a very good team but close is definitely not enough just a pipe dream…
