Purdue, NW ?? Minn even?

last year, it was clear that across the board UCLA had much more talent. Poorly coached and disorganized overall, but the talent was superior. This year hard to tell. Iowa s lines were night and day.

would put up our three receivers against any program as a whole. Other than that, I’m not seeing the team have a talent advantage, other than the above mentioned teams

offense-all but 4 or 5 teams
defense-nw
Northwestern’s defense has had health issues in the secondary but is much better than RU’s. Played very well against Oregon and would have been in that game if the QB didn’t lay his second egg of the season.

Rutgers passing game is one of the best in the Big Ten… we’ll see if they can run the ball against better B1G defenes.

Rutgers definitely has more talent then Purdue, UCLA, Wisconsin. Injuries have been brutal on RU

Besides Strong, NFL receiver , Duff , likely NFL receiver , think Raymond is top half of the 18 teams in the Big 10 and Athan is a top half of the QB’s in the big 10 . Athan can hold his own with all the top QB’s the way he is playing this year. Kirk has to give him a safety valve to the Rb or Tight end , who can chip and then turn around for the dump off that would avoid almost all of Athan’s sacks and would turn into a likely explosive play. No one on the offensive or defensive line stands out although Gus and Felter are serviceable. No one on the defensive line. Djajbome has talent but is being used incorrectly. No one in the secondary stands out.

Defense is the issue. Masco may get looks but that is about it. Offense- in total- maybe a top 5.
individual- WR room is up there. Raymond is up there and AK is up there.
mans I hate our RB/TE passes. Looks like the same play everytime. And they never chip and stay inside. All of the passes toRB, Tae are going outside.

question was talent, not seeing how we are more talented than anyone on defense except NW and you may be right there which means on one.... maybe Purdue

and we may lose to Purdue if we can't score 40 on them

We’ve had two fourth-quarter games haven’t we played at or near our talent level or with Iowa potentially above as their offensive line defensive line and secondary or night and day from ours. The expectation of competing with more talented teams and regularly winning doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. We beat a Moore talent in Washington team last year and were seconds away from beating a far more talented Illinois team no one wants to hear it coming off a loss, but there’s an argument that we’re playing at or maybe above our talent level. The fact that we have these great receivers seems to be coloring everyone’s opinion of the rest of the squad.
