So I was looking at the schedule trying to find a game for Friday and I saw this. Obviously this isn't the same Thornton as when Randle Els were punishing defenses or as when Tim Jamison was punishing offenses. But can Thornton make a game of this?

I agree that it won't be close. Wilmo hung with Morris and then thumped everyone else they have seen (albeit poor competition).
Yeah I was just thinking about that. Cant find much TT footage either.

Coal City beat Bloom 49-0.
Based on scores, Thornton looks like they are a little bit better than Bloom, but Wilmo should be able to control this game.
I do plan on going to check it out though, after a stop at Nelly’s/Rt 66 Brewery. This is the only interesting game on the Wilmo schedule until week 9.

Im looking to get H-F and Simeon off the schedule in favor of perhaps some local Will County rivalries. What do Wilmington and Coal City have in upcoming week 1 & 2

All this bull mess because conf opponent Lisle couldn't field a varsity football team. They had bad numbers last season, too.
42 seems a teeny bit ambitious I agree. I’ll say it’s something like 21. What would you put the spread at for Thornton v Morris?

Ok I was sandbagging a little. I tend to do that, but I had not seen TT and I thought maybe their 1st team would score a garbage TD or 2. I didn’t expect a shutout but I thought a running clock was about a 50/50 chance.
I didn’t count, but Thornton had a surprisingly small number of players, and they weren’t particularly big outside of a couple kids. 1500+ enrollment.
Miles away from the Randle El and Napoleon Harris days.
I suspect a lot of kids find their way to greener pastures. I think the end for them was when their coach sent his son to Marist and his nephew came out to the West Suburbs rather than play for the home team. I respect people making the best decision for their kids, but if you cant sell YOU on your own program...

Soucie had them as 2nd largest 2A school in his latest projections.
Hope they land in 2A. Feel like they belong there.
Also have no idea what to make of 2A. Peeps around here think 2A is easier than 1A and think we can do what Chicago Christian did last year which I think is a crazy thought.

Also, search the threads… it took me a while to get my user name fixed, but with the information here I finally got it to work. (Top of my head I can’t remember exactly what it was, but I think it had to do with linking account to Google/apple etc..)
