OT—Ryder Cup Day Two

Needed to keep the rough up. Course is easy when the rough is that playable. No way Beth Page should ever be carved up like that
I’ve been catching up on today’s matches… this is spot on. The USA **** the bed yesterday, big time. This Euro team may be one of the best Ryder squads of all time.
This will be my only post on this disgusting abomination of a sporting event to ever be held between two nations in recent memory.
1. The US team shows no team unity while the Euro's even tho they are a group divided by different languages and cultures mesh together.
2. The Euro's show resolve and no quit while the U.S. seems to relent to the moment and shows little passion.
3. We were led to believe the NY crowd would be a factor, it wasn't at all.
4. We were all led to believe Bethpage Black was going to be a TIGER of a course that was going to be brutal and it turned out to be a toothless old cat, big let down.
The course at Bethpage Black was not set up as the the TIGER we were led to believe it was going to be and it really did help the Euros in the end because they are the masters of the short game.
If you want to beat the Euros you need high rough and fast greens, it's what they don't play over in Europe for the most part, and yes many of them play event's here in the U.S. but not every week. You can thank the course superintendent at Bethpage Black and anyone who gave advise to the superintendent for the course set up, they sure helped the Europeans this time around.

Fwiw The course setup was totally up to Bradley and the US team. I’m guessing some kind of analytics suggested that wider fairways and shorter rough favored us. I can see how that might help DeChambeau, but Rory too.
I believe that if only we’d sunk a few more big putts and the Euros a few less, the narrative would be way different.
Bottom line: Rory, Fleetwood and Rahm were freaking rocks in foursomes and 4-ball. Their supporting cast like Lowery, Hatton, Rose, Aberg and Fitzi have also been money. Our supposed rocks and supporters have all played poorly.
Props to Cantley, who won me back over after being a prissy prick in Rome. And to rookies Cam and JJ who have played way better than most of our vets. JT has had a few good moments as well.
Unfortunately, Europe >>> US.
Rose is the guy who continues to impress me. His game has aged much better than I would have guessed.
Thanks for the correction, I always thought it was up to the governing body (PGA) or (Royal and Ancient) along with the course supers. I saw where Bradley said he probably would have set the course up differently in hindsight.
Bethpage Black can be a brutal course when set up correctly (U.S. Open style) but maybe Bradley was afraid his team wasn't strong enough to handle a true U.S. Open style set up which I believe would have helped the U.S. more.
