If the Hawks lose this game by a FG, those last 20 or 30some seconds of the 1st half will forever haunt them.
Like I said, this is modern CFB now. You have to defend yourself out there, and can't expect the refs to call these cheap hooks into the shoulder pads.

Watch the replay again. Sharar's left arm and shoulder was being held by the OL man. Thats why he couldn't wrap the RB. It should have been offensive holding on the play. AND Merriweather was pushed into the QB on the next play and should not have been roughing. Basically the zebras put Indiana in scoring position. Not to mention after the Iowa score therewas 17 seconds left, and they put the clock back to 22 seconds?

Again watch a replay. Sharar was being held when he had the RB in his right arm the OL had him held on his left arm and shoulder. No way he could wrap up, and should have been an Offensive hold.

I watch a lot of college football and tackling has been horrendous this year. They try to tackle way too high and bounce off. Pretty fundamental **** when I played.

Hand it to Kirk and Co. They had the boys ready on both sides of the ball. Most wrote us off before the game even started. The defense is having its best performance yet today. While on offense that's a really demoralizing start, Mark has locked in and played his best ball of the year so far. He's made the makeables and has played like how we've always wanted him to. Even our WR group is playing their best game today.
Iowa's clear edge is special teams, and Cig is doing whatever he can to keep the ball away from Wetjen. I fully expect them to come out swinging hard with the pass in the second half. They've been playing more conservative than I thought they would, but being on the road in a dangerous environment may contribute to that.

So what happened in the first half with a team averaging 56 points agame, and didn't score after the early turnover where they only had to go 15 yards. Man we must suck on defense.

Would have done the exact same thing indy did- run a draw and if you get something positive, then trying getting into fg position. If draw or first down play gets you nothing, then just go into half time
