FORE!

[egr2teup]

Did not expect to see this egg from Scottie today.

Bryson has played like crap, too. We were never going to win this thing without solid performances from them.

[egr2teup]

For all the grief Cantlay catches, he's played well.

At least what I've seen.

[KisRat]

Did not expect to see this egg from Scottie today.

Scottie has been playing like Tiger did on the PGA Tour and now he’s playing like Tiger did in the Ryder Cup.

[egr2teup]

Stay classy, Rory.

[egr2teup]

Jon Rahm is tougher than a $2 ribeye.

[Mr Winterville]

Stay classy, Rory.

I’m sure that’ll be chalked up to “pointy elbows” and “grit” and all the other BS the euro apologists shovel.

[Mr Winterville]

Haha. Nice putt Rory.

[lakelawyerheel]

Feel a little better about Scottie after those last few holes. Hopefully seeing the ball go in a few times has him ready to roll tomorrow

[Mr Winterville]

The margin between a 6-2 deficit and a 4-4 tie after Friday is just going to come down to a couple of holes here.

[lakelawyerheel]

What are y’all’s thoughts on foursomes tomorrow morning? It’s a different animal than four ball but I’m rolling with pretty much all of this afternoon’s guys if I’m Keegan

[Mr Winterville]

Huge putt Patty. Attaboy.

I'd put Burns with Scottie out first and then the Young group out 2nd to maximize the chance of winning first two matches.

[PureJumper]

Cantlay group 3rd.

[Mr Winterville]

Nice putt Burns. Huge birdie answer.

[lakelawyerheel]

Rosie and Tommy just feel like 2 guys an average Joe would love to play a round of golf with….and then hang with at the bar afterward

[lakelawyerheel]

That was almost a shank…with a wedge….from Cantley

[Mr Winterville]

Wow. Burns with a big missed opportunity on 18 green but it could’ve been worse (thankfully Rory missed his birdie too, from closer in). Match 8 halved. 5.5 to 2.5. Much better psychologically than 6-2.

[KisRat]

Disastrous day for a team with the home advantage.

[lakelawyerheel]

Honestly can’t believe Rory missed that

[Mr Winterville]

Honestly can’t believe Rory missed that

Indeed. I’m crediting myself with the assist… I jinxed him bigtime from my house.

[Mr Winterville]

Disastrous day for a team with the home advantage.

Yeah but also not entirely surprising. The only thing that really surprised me was Scottie’s poor day. If Rahm, Fleetwood, Rory, Hatton, Rose etc are all playing great and our supposed best are hacking around… It’s a tall task.

Henley was hugely disappointing. Maybe we found something with Young. Looking forward to seeing him tomorrow morning (hopefully). JT having a big afternoon could bode well. He’s a momentum golfer.

[Carolinablueinhouston]

I haven’t been able to watch. How did Griffin play?

[egr2teup]

Disastrous day for the US. Hard to have hope unless we pull off a miracle tomorrow.

[egr2teup]

I haven’t been able to watch. How did Griffin play?

To be succinct, poorly.

[unctarheel1984]

Down 3 points. It could be worse. Play better Saturday and go into Sunday down no more than 4 and I like the USA’s chances.

[egr2teup]

[lakelawyerheel]

Same foursome pairings for US except Cam Young playing with BDC instead of JT

BDC/Cam vs Fitzpatrick/Aberg

Colin/English vs Rory/Tommy

Cantlay/Xander vs Rahm/Hatton

Scottie/Henley vs MacIntyre/Hovland

I was hoping for some more changes…

[egr2teup]

One would wonder if Keegan is on the fix for sending English/Morikawa back out for foursomes once again.

[unctarheel1984]

USA should win 1 & 4. Will lose 2 badly. I don’t have a darn clue about 3.

Colin’s game is an absolute mess. And has been for too long

[DesertHeels]

not a great start

Nm

[DesertHeels]

Burns should never be another captains pick

[Mr Winterville]

Yeah. Gotta get to Sunday with a legitimate chance to win. 10-6 would probably be the cutoff on that.

The difference today was putting. The Euros, with a few exceptions (Rory on 18 etc) were rolling it in from everywhere. We have to make it harder for them. If they are seeing tons of blue on the scoreboard, the hole probably starts looking like a hula hoop. They need to start thinking about blowing a lead.

[DesertHeels]

What is it with American world number one players who under perform as part of partnerships other than Jack?

[egr2teup]

[DesertHeels]

It’s just mind-boggling how much better Europe’s best players play in these things than ours do.

[DesertHeels]

Wow. Burns with a big missed opportunity on 18 green but it could’ve been worse (thankfully Rory missed his birdie too, from closer in). Match 8 halved. 5.5 to 2.5. Much better psychologically than 6-2.

It’s basically over, but if McIlroy had made that, it was absolutely over

They LOVE sticking it up our country’s collective ***

They treat the Ryder Cup like a team based Masters or Open Championship

[DesertHeels]

If BDec and Scottie don’t step it up tomorrow, we will get annihilated.

[DesertHeels]

Colin’s game is an absolute mess. And has been for too long

Yep, he should’ve never been invited.
