@king_kong__ or others who love to partake in gambling, what I am missing here. The Iowa vs. Indiana spread is only 7.5 with an O/U of 48.5? I know it is at Iowa City, but I have to be missing something. This game could easily be 49-10 Indiana...

Just wait a bit to see what the gamblers do. I think the line was down to -7 this morning.
"Vegas" doesn't like to overreact to things like we do. So while Indiana killed Illinois, the lines makers are not going to freak out about that.

I also like Indiana this weekend. I don't follow iowa or indiana so I have no idea about that history or if indiana ever wins at iowa.

Also, these are just my thoughts on why the line is -7.

Also, I am so ******* jealous that Indiana hired a badass coach!!!!

I get how it comes about, but after watching Iowa play Rutgers... This could be like 49-10 type game. Iowa and Illinois look very similar and Iowa might be worse at the skill positions. A 28-21 game just doesn't make sense, but usually when it doesn't is when Iowa will lose by a FG.

I'm not a gambler but it's always interesting to hear guys like you give a glimpse into how Vegas looks at sports through a different lens (ie not a fan perspective). It seems like at this point anything to do with Indiana's history can be disregarded! Not a Cignetti fan but that dude is a witch. I fully expected the Hoosiers to come back to reality this year but that seems like wishful thinking.

I would be shocked if Indiana doesn't win this game by 20.

Their DL is nasty...their QB is nasty...and their rushing offense is nasty.

But, there is also a reason there are a bunch of really tall cool buildings in Vegas that have the light son 24/7...

I get it, but to your point:

DL Nasty - That shuts down literally the only thing Iowa does ok. Run the Ball.
QB and Receivers Nasty - If Athan Kaliakmanus can score, Indiana is going to ****** light it up
Rushing Offense - Iowa is meh up front. Just another compliment to score points.

This game feels like another blood bath.

I totally agree with all of that!

Now, iowa is happy to lose a game without even trying to win, so I would expect them to not pass at all, to punt as much as possible and to sit back on defense and make Indiana eat some clock.

Since this is at Kinnick I’d take the under and I would pick Indiana to cover. I’d say it will be more like a 28-10 kind of game. Iowa likes to chew clock so there won’t be as many possessions.

To me that 6.5 to 7.5 opening line for road favorites is always kind of a tease to see what the public is going to do. There are a hand full of those types of lines this week.

Friday: FSU -7.5 @ Virginia. Virginia looks to be solid this year and I think they can score some points. Night game at Virginia, so the stadium will have some juice. I hate say it but FSU does look like a different animal this year.

Saturday: USC -7.5 @ Illinois 11:00 am game USC could still be a sleep for this one, but the last couple of years after a big loss Bulimia's teams have not looked good. If Illinois isn't careful they could give up half a hundred again. On the flip side I don't trust Riley and I think on defense USC is soft. I would take the overs in this one.
Notre Dame -6.5 @ Arkansas ND seems to play better on the road and the Hogs are kind of schizophrenic team and you don't know what you will get with them from week to week. 31-32 at Memphis for example.
BYU -6.5 @ Colorado I always kind of like BYU in these situations because their team usually averages about 26 years old and they play dirty. SCUM isn't really a threat, but again a night game and their will be a cloud of smoke over the stadium. Probably a BYU lean here.
Tennessee -7.5 @ Miss. State Starkvegas at night has a different feel, but this is a 3:00 pm kick off and I do think Tennessee is a really good team. They had Georgia beat and let them off the hook. Of all of these touchdown road favorites this week, I kinda like Tennessee the most.
Indiana -7.5 @ Iowa I don't know how Iowa does it, but it always seems like they have a white dude that can fly and I could see that Wetjen kid popping a punt or kick return again. Cignetti is a douche pickle, but so far he has been able to back it up. I don't know if Parker has the normal horses he has had in the past on defense, but I think he may be able to find a way to slow IU down a little bit. Honestly the number seems about right on this one.

It seems so far this season home field has really helped teams, (Nebraska not included) to the tune of about 3+ points. If you really like any of these road favorites at -10 I would jump on them.

I hope it is. I love a good shake up. Never in my life have I seen other teams fear Indiana.

Indiana was so dominant at home last season. They played ok on the road, but definitely played some of their worst football on the road. Even if it’s all relative.

If it were in Indiana I’d say Hoosiers by 24+
But since it’s at Iowa I could see a 30-17 or 28-24 type of game

If it’s too good to be true ….

I agree after the dismantling of Illinois it seems like a no-brainer. But Iowa defense should get stops and their special teams are elite. Wetjen can flip the field and is a TD threat with KO and punt returns. Gronowski looked better against Rutgers.

I think Indiana should cover but it seems to good to be true.

Wouldn't be surprised for another IU domination, glad they're not on our schedule this year.

This is why Vegas is Vegas. Of all these favorites last week only Notre Dame covered and you had two outright losses, and Tennessee needed OT.
