He's our best tackle and the offense looks better with him in. Gottula and Prochazka were getting owned all day long. After the false start (why he was called I don't know) he was pulled for the rest of the game. Is it a discipline or a culture thing he's getting pulled. He makes one mistake (which should have been offsides), and gets pulled for the rest of the game, meanwhile the other tackles make mistakes & get owned all game long and stay in. Unless we get our o-line working better big 10 teams are going to tee off on DR.

Same reason there’s some who think TJ is better than Dylan right now.

Sure, Pritchett MAY be our “best” tackle, but we’re picking between a bowl of horse poop, a bowl of dog poop, and a bowl of chicken poop with all of our tackles at this moment. “Best” doesn’t mean much right now. What would you like to eat for breakfast?

Physically he is the best. You have to choose between the guy that might make a bone-headed mistake but could win the 1-1 battle or the more polished player that gets steamrolled against high-level talent. With the way things were going I would have taken my chances with Pritchett.
Teddy was disappointing. I thought he was the best OT overall going into this game. He looked hapless against the speed rush.

This is the answer. He physically is the best and if they are going to suck, at least put the guy out there that can possibly be the most physical. I'd move Gunnar to RT, play EP and bench Teddy. Still will be a **** sandwich, but I think gives us a better chance even if it is 5% better.

I'd favor moving one of those guys to NT. Pritchett could be a beast there. Beats sitting on the bench and helps shore up our weakest position on defense.

Agreed. I’m all for starting Pritchett. And i think have EP/GG as LT/RT is the best option at this point.
Is Knaak, Knutson, Brix not in a position to contribute at tackle? They’re all listed at 6’6” like Gottula and came in the same time as him. Was Gottula really that far ahead of them? I know Brix was working at guard recently but worth exploring.

How about Teddy on the DL? He has to be faster and stronger than RVP and Jeudy. We are really just not good there. He could also help on blocking kicks (6'10" plus leaping ability). Another option is at TE in primarily blocking situations.

Teddy is a loyal husker but after 2 acl's his mobility cant be that great.

Take a 6ft 10 22yo OT with two prior knee surgeries and move him to a position on defense that he has never played before.

This just might work….right?

I've heard many times that interior DT takes the least bit of knowledge to learn of any position on the field. All you do is watch the snap and hit the gap. His knees are going to either hold up or not. If he can't handle DT he can't handle OT either.

Setting aside the contention that DT is simply a “hit the gap” position, do you really think a 6ft10 OT is going to switch to DT mid-season and be minimally effective against major college OL?

In TP’s case, every opposing OC would exploit that mismatch every down he played. If Prochaska is switched to DL it’s a sure sign his college career is over.

I'd keep Teddy at RT. Move Pritchett over to NT for the year. He has quicker feet so can move back to Tackle if going against the type of athletes Michigan has. ****, why not just have him play both positions? He'd be in a rotation at both, so not much of a concern that he'd get tired. Coaching staff needs to get creative and get some talent on the field, regardless of position.

Way different job descriptions. He has no chance of being better than any of our 2 deep at DT.

It's not body type or strength with these guys. It's body confidence and footwork. Both are atrocious.

Rhule said Pritchett was making dumb mistakes/penalties in fall camp. He did at the goal line against Cincy and then again vs Michigan. They can’t trust him, which is an issue.

I'm as disappointed as the next guy, but I think some of these guys on this board have no idea how good either of those two are. They are physical freaks. It should be interesting to see how the rest of the league deals with them.

I didn't watch that game. It would be interesting to see how those two played and what OU tried to do against them. I would imagine that their QB got rid of the ball very quickly.

I thought I read where Pritchet was always jumping offsides in practice before the Huskers even played a game. Not sure he is best of anything.

Occasional offsides and playing better vs getting beat on almost every snap by an edge rusher for a sack. Pick your poison.
