It seems we cannot play on real grass very well. In the ISU game Wetjen slipped on the Grono interception. Coaches need to figure that out.

I just think Iowa sucks whenever they travel out west. The USC game s/b fun too.
They did have better players. Their 247 talent composite last year was higher than Iowa’s. If they get a halfway decent coach and NIL they should significantly out recruit Iowa. I just don’t know what they can attract for a coach or what they could pay. In addition, their athletic dept is 200 million in debt so I’m not sure how they are handling player payments. The school gave the dept 30 million last year but that’s unlikely to continue due to the serious situation the University is in.
They need to find space for a campus or near campus stadium. Those home uniforms deserve it.

UCLA played at the Coliseum prior to 1982. Then they moved to the Rose Bowl. Wonder if they could go back? Too much overlap with USC? They made it work before.
That Rose Bowl move had to be part of their problem.
Reminiscent of what happened to the Goophers when they moved off campus at roughly the same time. Not as extreme but it did undermine fan interest. College football is about being on a college campus.
Yes. With our run defense and Kaleb Johnson in the backfield, we should've beat them by 3 TDs. Instead they ran it down our throats and we got obliterated at the LOS. One of the most baffling games I've seen under KF.
This. He'd have to be out of his mind to leave Ames for the reasons you mentioned. Making that kind of money in Iowa is like making 9 million on the coast, and he just has to keep them decent to compete in the little 12...
IF his health holds out. He's had a couple of major scares in the last couple of years. The compartment symdrome of his legs and now bladder cancer. He's too young(57 yrs old), to be having so many problems for a guy who was such a great athlete.

Depends on your point of view, I guess. Head scratchers have become a staple of the Ferentz era. I consider Iowa losing that game to be about as "KF" as you can get.
Fitz makes sense for both those jobs. Obviously seems like a better fit at Wiscy but I do think he could actually build a program at UCLA.
Except Fitz is the next Iowa coach starting in 2026.
I’m not advocating for him in any way, but he actually had a winning record at NW and had a winning record in the conference as well until his last 2 years drug him down. It’s the toughest job in the conference by far. He’s not going anywhere to a coordinator.
He would take the Michigan job, be foolish not too, I doubt he would Alabama, just not the type of environment that he wants. If he leaves he leaves, it's his choice but until the perfect job for him opens up, he will stay at ISU.
