I guess Kaleb is not doing so hot at the Steelers?

Didn't realize he was returning kicks.. plenty of fantasy 🏈 talk before the season mentioned they didn't think Aaron Rodgers was a good QB fit for him

Not really a muff. Didn't understand the rules on NFL kickoffs.

Not good...

But that shouldn't have been a TD... Was it reviewed? Looked like the Seahawks didn't have control by the time they rolled out of the endzone with the ball....

Not only was he sliding out as he tried to grab the ball... He immediately flipped it to try to keep it in the endzone....

KJ’s fault no doubt but that also falls squarely on the Special Teams coach to ensure the returners know the new rules with regards to kick offs and how that has changed this year in the return zone. Also, his fellow deep back should be back there to assist or jump on the ball if necessary. A lot of blame to go around but falls primarily on KJ to return the ball in that situation.

Another Steelers rookie RB, Barry Foster did something similar in 1990. He treated a KO like a punt and didnt field it.

Saw a RB drill the Steelers were doing, where the backs would receive the handoff, read the gaps, and make a decisive cut on the run......... KJ was the one handing the ball off for each back. No RB reps. However, I do think his ability to block and catch passed out of the backfield will keep him in the league.

Don't think they had possession before ball went out of bounds. Confused why that was a td too.

On a catch in the endzone you need 2 feet in bounds and then control it to the ground, if you are falling.

But I guess if it's on the ground, you just slide with the ball in your hands for .5 seconds and throw it in bounds as soon as you hit the sideline and that's enough.

Crazy rule.

But still a bonehead play by Kaleb

The steelers will likely try to trade him, but I'm assuming he'll be cut and picked up. Green Bay makes a ton of sense with recent off-field scenarios

He will get cut.
Some of his criticism about going down too easily is creeping back up in the burgh
A feather could tackle him. Since he doesn't have any special teams abillity it seems it looks like he will be the odd man out.
Too bad. I was loving having all these Hawks on the Steelers. Practice squad i think is in his future.

He definitely got more physical his junior year but I still didn’t feel like he was as violent as he could have been. A lot of his long runs were the result of great blocking and him having great straight line speed to shoot through.

Yeah it seemed like, only occasionally, Kaleb would decide he wouldn’t be tackled easily.

With his size, I never understood why he wasn’t a tougher runner.

He is a one cut type back back who sort of needs a hole. In the pros you got to be able to get at least 2-3 yards on every run when there are no holes. Someone mentioned him going to the Pack and I think they zone block like Iowa. I hope he can get a few productive years and a 2nd contract.

When you're a fringe NFLer, it's all about opportunity and situation. Tyler Goodson spent 3 full seasons on the Colts' active roster, and looks like he may make the Falcons active roster this season, and he has been a marginal NFL RB at best. No way in a million years could you convince me that TG is more worthy of playing in the NFL than KJ. Just being in the right situation at the right time and taking advantage of it.

I know it was Nebraska, but dude broke like 7 tackles on that catch and run. He can break tackles.
well it hasn't translated to the pro game. I've watched him carefully this preseason. Not much burst, and he has not shown any of that ability to make defenders miss or power thru them. I really wanted him to succeed in Pittsburgh. Truth is he just hasn't been nearly good enough at this point to warrant a roster spot

I was casually watching week 1 this year pre season, to see dunker and wetjen, and I think KJ touched the ball a few times. then I saw week three looked like this big stud { number 35 maybe } was running all over the place and he definitely looked good. he will get a spot. then I did not see kj, week 3. but dunker is impressing people and the jet is as well. surprised KJ not cut last year actually or start of this yr.

Can you imagine him in Iowa backfield last year? No losses to ISU, Indiana, maybe even Oregon

Yes, but in all honesty they were all arm tackles by guys running at him. Not one of those guys layed a clean hit on him. Great run, and effort, and pretty poor tackling by the shuckers...
