Unfortunately I have season tickets so the dime has already been given. I will not be adhering to your rules unless you would like to help absorb the cost I have already incurred.

Cardinals were in prevent. They basically quit. Panthers i have now 1 or 2 wins. Maybe winless.

Fire Morgan and get a real gm.

I was optimistic on Bryce being able to be a serviceable NFL QB (never a superstar) after the end of last season, but I've reverted back to wondering how in the hell anyone ever talked themselves into drafting him first overall.

He just lacks zero physical attributes that can overcome his tiny stature. Kyler Murray has elite elusiveness a rocket arm. Drew Brees was probably the most accurate passer of all-time. Russell Wilson had incredible pocket presence, was a good runner, and had a rocket arm.

Bryce Young has none of those things. He can't throw with enough velocity so everything has to be perfectly timed. When they had that 3rd and 20 or whatever at the end of the game I said, "there is a zero percent chance BY could ever convert this first down in an NFL game. Zero." He doesn't have the velocity to overcome the speed of NFL DBs when they're playing a prevent defense.

I wouldn't bench him because playing Dalton serves zero purpose, but it's definitely time to start planning for a new QB in 2026.

BY just looks like a child playing against men out there. Seeing him scramble backwards and not have the speed to outrun the DE was um…. concerning.

I feel the same way after two games this season. At the end of the day, his game changing turnovers that keep happening due to his physical limitations continue to outweigh his positives. Take the first drive of the game yesterday. Sure, there aren’t many QBs that could have eluded the free rusher, but 30 of 32 starters probably hold on to the ball. A questionable penalty bailed him out from having three picks in the first game including a Will Levis esque pick six.

Ultimately this just isn’t the situation for him to succeed. We need someone who can drag this team into contention at that position and Bryce seems to play his best when the pressure is lowest. Late game comeback attempts, games where the team has been eliminated from the playoffs, etc. He might have a Sam Darnold type career path in another system where everything is perfect but I’m not confident it’s in the best interest of either party for him to continue in Carolina with another contract.

The real issue with this team though is the historically inept drafting on defense over the last 5+ years. In the defensive two-deep, only 3 of the 22 players were drafted by the Panthers before this spring’s draft. Hard to compete in this league if you can’t build out your team through the draft. Even one of those guys is Jaycee Horn who saw Patrick Surtain, Micah Parsons and Rashawn Slater go right after him.

Good post. I agree that his only chance of success would be in a system where he's paid like a Top 15-20 QB, have an offensive wizard as the HC, and you use the money you save on QB to build up the rest of the roster around him. He's the ultimate game manager. Which was his ceiling all along and why he never should have been drafted 1st overall.

Purely from an organization/culture/business perspective that adored Cam, I don't know why they went with someone like Bryce. Go for a big physical or at least alpha type that has some presence. I feel like we are all rooting for an underdog when we root for Bryce and he's the mfin #1 overall pick.

Young just doesn't have the size to be a starting QB in the NFL. Also, the owner sucks. I wish the owner of the Hurricanes would buy the team.

The worst thing about the massive mistake they made picking BY #1 (and giving up the farm to trade up) is that they have double and tripled down on that mistake by making all of their big personnel decisions since then to try to get BY not look so bad.

Both first round picks since BY have been WRs to try to help him more….Legette (who they traded up to get smh) is an absolute bust. T. McMillan at least looks like a legit NFL player. But we also spent a fortune in free agency to beef up the OLine. And with all of those resources thrown at the problem to try to make BY “better”, he’s still not good enough, not even close. Meanwhile the team has one of the worst defenses in the league because we’ve just continued to try to make the BY pick look not as bad by spending our top picks and money on offensive players.

The tail is wagging the dog, and the Panthers just continue to dig the hole they are in deeper and deeper. They need to move on from BY…he will never he more than a backup level QB in this league. This is the third season he’s been the starter now, and here we are at 0-2 yet again, and he’s already leading the league in turnovers.

At some point you have to admit you blew it and start over. A #1 overall pick is a guy that should be good enough to carry a team, not a guy that you have to build an all star team around him just so he doesn’t completely suck.

Easy and accurate to dump on BY. There are multiple backups in the league at or above his level. Go get Sam and make the locals happy in another dumpster fire season.
I agree with the sentiment that the real problem is the GM/drafting. Way too many failures for that wreck of a program to continue.
