Haarberg QB Controversy

My somewhat educated opinion on QBs at NU is that for 20 years we’ve taken very talented guys and put them situations where it was almost impossible to develop and succeed. That includes Raiola until we hired Dana. IMHO, if Haarberg would have started out with a QB coach/OC like Dana and we hadn’t landed Raiola, the conversation would be very different surrounding him. Watching him play QB two years ago reminded me so much of Josh Allen early on at Wyoming.
I don’t care if you’re a young QB or a young farmer, the situation you’re put in early on has a tremendous influence on the first 5-10 years of your career. Unfortunately for a QB, if you haven’t shown it on the field in those first 3-4 years, your career is over. Haarberg has shown a great skill set but IMO never got the kind of consistent QB coaching and play calling to allow him to consistently succeed. And yeah, I feel the same way about Purdy with the addition that he had way too many injuries.
It was pretty clear from the jump that Satterfield wasn't the wanted choice to coach the QBs. The deal with Peetz fell through and Satt was the default. We forget that Rhule corrected that by hiring Thomas. And he tried to get Holgerson at the same time, but Dana didn't want to commit. Now we have two guys that are solid QB coaches and what looks like a pretty solid room, with more talent committed. Given that we all knew when Rhule was hired that this deal was a multi-year fix, the way things worked out went better than anything has in the past decade for NU football.
I feel ya. Same here. If I had better coaching or any coaching or if I went out for QB...

Maybe Io_a's stud million dollar QB should be the RB for them. God knows he can't hit the broad side of a broad.

Oh c’mon. Play nice. Strong opinions? Yes. Retarded? No. Admit it. The banter can be more interesting with Kong posting on here. What I don’t appreciate are the guys trolling us. Kong isn’t trolling. His opinion and approach pisses me off sometimes, but he isn’t trolling IMO.
