Not really surprising given that the community has been split. Would love to hear some data on how many users made the switch.
I think they're waiting for their other subscription to run out. And... Something has to happen with these ads. Premium subscribers shouldn't have to put up with them.
Inertia is real.
The other site is investing in keeping folks there. I never went over to the old Rivals site, so can’t speak to that, but the content on the new other board is equivalent to the content here.
It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out in a few years. I’ve been around IC for 25ish years, hoping it picks up again.
Unless something breaks I think it’s inevitable that both sites will be less than the old I.C. And Ben continues to hide the ZZL to limit traffic here.
I agree that traffic at both sites will be less, at least for awhile. And TOS is still putting out some quality articles, but so are they here.
I truly hope that many are waiting for their memberships to expire there before making the move. In order for that to happen, On3 is going to have to allow some site and ease of operation changes that I'm not sure they'll do.
ETA: There should be a suggestion box thread somewhere here that allows us to put our recommendations in one place so that we can see what others are thinking and comment on them.
My suggestion- the “Alerts” icon should take you directly to Alerts, not a main menu page so you can scroll down to Alerts and click again.
So, I was going to do my part and start another thread and don't see how I can do that. Do I have to pay the $1 to subscribe in order to be able to start threads? Not going to happen. ETA: never mind, I figured it out.
It’s pretty common, I’ve been at companies that try things like this and were bit hard. I hope the promise of better tech is working out for the staff, it’s not appreciably better for us. The tech is just different flavors of ‘fine but not great’
I’m going to try a year here for loyalty and the staff I respect and there for the paramount deal.
We’ll see what happens. The way college sports is going, I might just give up on both.
I pretty much agree with everything in this post. Unfortunately feels like the ICers kinda lost our on this one. Our community is split and neither one is amazing anymore.
Agree with all the above 3 posts. Definitely hurt the overall community. I do really like the Paramount deal with the 247 as there are several shows I watch with it.
May drop the premium account here eventually since I can still access the Zizzle and the free boards. But hate to take away the paid portion as I have mad respect for Ben, Rell, Michelle, Joey and the gang.
