Oh I agree, but it's likely not a pick if he doesn't fall. Gotta take a shot or 3 to keep the dbs from immediately planting their feet and driving on any break.
lol Iowa is lucky to take three deep shots the whole year let alone in in one game but very true thats how you keep a db honest thinking about passes

Sorry about the game.

But seriously, watching a Ferentz offense in 2025 is like being stuck behind an old guy going 3 mph under the speed limit. It has to be so maddening for you guys.
At this point, I think most of us are pretty indifferent to losing this type of game. What is most unpalatable is the fact Kirk has been allowed to do this for multiple years.

I hear what you’re saying…and this is after watching one of the most modern versions of offense we’ve ever had under KF. The RPO’s are a nice wrinkle…at least we’re not just running wide zone EVERY running play.

We’re still the most conservative offense ever…but we’re trying

A Ferentz offense is the old guy going 3 mph under the speed limit. Being stuck behind him would indicate some sort of potential but I don't see it. The best drive of the game took nearly 9 minutes and sputtered out for a fg. The camera work wouldn't let me see if anyone was actually running a route beyond 5 yards or not but I'm going to guess for the majority of the game the answer was no.

I swear Kirk believes if Iowa scores more than 10 points that should be good enough to win.
He got stuck in a time loop of being an NFL coach circa 1999-2000. It's brutal.

12-9 finals happen in the NFL (which is why it sucks) but it just does not work in college.

I know he wont be fired. But the longer kirk is around the further it burns down. And there is nothing we can do but watch. For over 5 years we have been saying this. You cant fire him. But damn this is a scary time for our program.

Other than the buyout being too large, Kirk should not get a free pass just because he had the program rolling in the 2000s.

He should have been sent packing with Brian (in a world without Barta).

Northwestern was just as poor at moving the ball as Iowa. I'd prefer not to watch more of the same.
I’d replace ‘moving the ball’ with ‘conservative’, but yeah you’re spot on. Call me paranoid, but I really don’t like seeing him cozying up to KF (kid and all) of late… I don’t give a rat’s @SS if he won his lawsuit, hard pass for me…
