Donovan Jones is the only guy that really "surprised" me. Everyone else had shown something before. Lindenmeyer had already shown he was capable last season.

The FG kicker hitting a 50-yarder was also a pleasant surprise.

The guy who wouldn't start at any other P4 was number 1 for you, huh?
He's squeezing the absolute most out of his talent level, so... yes. Doesn't mean I wouldn't want someone with more potential talent as well like Boerkircher.

It’s a great sign that he had a good game in his first game. Bodes well that he will continue to grow and flash his potential. Not sure what his problem was at Missouri, but I don’t really care if he performs here.
One thing was that he was a true freshman trying to play on a decent SEC team. It usually takes a year or two. Or three, to develop as a lineman.

He’s a complete TE. Maybe not the fastest but he’s been good.
Lindenmeyer is an effort guy with reasonable athleticism. Those guys tend to play on any team, because the coaches know they don't have to worry about them when they are out on the field.

Over the years I’ve watched lots of TEs on Sundays who didn’t appear any more gifted than Lindenmeyer.

You also think Chubba Purdy is a stud....
He actually looked as good as any QB could playing for Nevada against PEDO State last week. He had a 22 yard run where he beat backers to the edge then wove his way through a couple of DBs. He was their leading rusher by far if that tells you anything. Had some nice throws but was running for his life the whole game. He’s a talented guy who has never been put in a good situation to succeed. Some of that was his own doing by bouncing around so much and starting out in Florida. He would have been better off following his brother to ISU. I LOVE a QB with his athleticism. Looks like we’ll have guys like that on the roster going forward.

Athletic and a good QB aren't the same. He sucks and tape tells you that.
