Sealed water bottles allowed for Game 2?

I attended today's women's soccer match vs UConn. In the past, the soccer games fell under the "no outside food or beverages allowed" restrictions, same as football. But today, fans were allowed to bring in one sealed water bottle. Does this mean we will be allowed to do the same for football games?

Ill be reading this week's "know before you go" email very closely. Hopefully the athletic department has finally discovered common sense in this regard!

Good catch. IIRC, the older policy was linked before the game last Friday August 26 (it was from 2023):

In the current e-mail (and I checked back from last week's e-mail too), there seems to be a link to a new policy dated 2025/8/26

The link in that article takes you to the game day policies which still say no outside food or drink

The older one does, the newer one doesnt. I did email Matt C yesterday morning to confirm....no reply. Shocker.

Looks like I'll be sneaking it in.

The 8/26/25 know before you go page is not the same as the full gameday policies page, which hasn't updated since 8/10/23, and prohibits everything.

I phoned the AD’s office last week and was told that there shouldn’t be any issues this year bringing in small snacks that fit in a one gallon bag. They’re relying more on metal detectors than physical inspections. However, still no beverages.

kind of like TSA, I guess.

FWIW someone with medical reasons can bring in whatever they need and it works on the honor system.

As an old boss used to say silk suit on a hangar. Matt only replies if there’s a photo op or if you cc his boss (from experience).

Trust nothing the athletic department says.

The website says he is the head coach.

I have been told officially, by higher ups in RU athletics, no food, no drinks, including water, allowed in
One time I lifted my shirt and showed them scars from my kidney surgery and said I was under Doctor's orders to drink plenty of water. They let me in with 2 bottles of water

Corn chips, pretzels, a plum and two Kind bars. Brought them in in a clear plastic bag. And a bottle of water in my pocket.
