If Greg had gone for the kill last week and scored 60+, the brand perception would be considerably different
Maybe to outsiders just looking at the score at the bottom of the ESPN screen. To most Rutgers fans, the offense looked as good as we could’ve hoped but expectations need to be tempered until we get a better idea of the level of Ohio’s D. Whether we pounded on more points in half two or not most of our fans feel good about the offense.
On the other hand, Rutgers D quite literally could’ve only been worse if we failed to stop them on their last offensive series. We don’t know how good Ohio’s offense is yet either, but we know enough to know our D did not stop them until that final drive. The few other stalled drives resulted from Ohio penalties and botched snaps not our D.
All of this would’ve been true regardless of the final score.
