Surprised this hasn't been discussed. 70 new players ? High profile Alumni on hand . Lays a major egg.

Does he have the "stain" to survive let alone win?

Hulu will air a season-long docuseries covering the UNC football program. LOL.

Local/NC media were falling all over themselves covering the much-anticipated blue-carpet premiere of Chapel Bill. All out. All in. This morning? Crickets....

Given the mass exodus of "fans" just after halftime, it'll be interesting to see the turnout in Charlotte this Saturday. Weather looking terrific.

All in all, this debacle couldn't have happened to a more deserving athletics program.

There was like 2 pages of discussion here:

And it's Belichick, not Bellicheck

I don’t usually engage in schadenfreude but being a lifelong NY Jet fan, I couldn’t resist. Enjoyed the Monday night matchup and the entertainment it provided. More seriously, I wasn’t surprised UNC lost but was surprised how poorly UNC played. The guy is a very good football coach so I expect they will improve as the year goes on.

Maybe BB can check and see if Tom Brady has eligibility left?

Thought this was funny:

It's one game, and they will be fine
Guy is a legendary coach and they play in the worst P5 league known to man

That being said, it's good to see them get hammered on live tv
Lots of bad blood between them and many ACC members, for countless reasons, throughout the years

Yeah, he's good, but there is this that some bring up:

BB's Post-Brady Performance

  • Seasons Post-Brady: 4 (2020-2023)
  • Record: 29-38
  • Playoff Appearances: 1

Definitely better with TB12
But the ACC is putrid - hence why I think he'll have success there

I dunno. The college game is all about player development. The coaches that can develop those skills and game senses just do better. Offensive or defensive 'wizardry' is really secondary. Most teams that win would still win even if they gave you their whole playbook a week in advance. What I saw was a team severely lacking in fundamentals. The guy has literally never worked at a college team before and it showed.

I'll wait a few games before I call his career dead but he refuses to admit it died when he lost Brady .
But his Tar Heels against TCU played like his reign as a top HC isn't going to continue as a College HC.
Freddie Kitchens might take the blame for a poor offense and his son Steve for the D
But Bill is the man that is the one that is ultimately responsible for the programs success or failure.
I read where NC had 70 new players, including transfers and recruits, joining the program for the 2025 season.
So it might take a little time to mold them into a fine tuned product and Bill will prove to be as good as advertised when he took the job.
But time will tell and Bill hasn't looked good since Brady left the NE cold for the team bearing is initials in a warmer climate

It was such a shame to see the University of No Classes lose. Really, it was!

BB knows football. But man oh man- couldn't imagine a better guy I would love to see go 2-10 hahahahaha and this GF thing- on the sideline with him...GTF

Dude is absolutely making a mockery of himself.

As for his NFL credentials- We all went through 20 years of the chicken or egg - BB as the chicken and Brady as the egg. I think we got complete proof that the Egg came first. BB doe not have the same career with Bledsoe

Bill is doing worse off the field with his business than on the field, unless he is going to challenge the validity of the marks the New England Patriots obtained when he was their head coach. More stuff in the linked story.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has refused four trademark applications filed by North Carolina football coach Bill Belichick and his companion, Jordon Hudson, saying the phrases they attempted to trademark would cause a "likelihood of confusion" with previously filed ones.

The New England Patriots, Belichick's former employer, hold the rights on the trademarks Belichick and Hudson sought. In April, TCE Rights Management, with Hudson listed as its manager, filed to secure several trademarks, including these four: "Do Your Job (Bill's Version)," "Ignore the Noise (Bill's Version)," "The Belestrator (Bill's Version)" and "No Days Off (Bill's Version)."

The Patriots trademarked "The Belestrator" in 2009, "Do Your Job" in 2013 and both "No Days Off" and "Ignore the Noise" in 2017.

The patent office released the decisions last week, saying it rejected the requests because "it is likely consumers would be confused, mistaken or deceived as to the commercial source of the goods and/or services of the parties
."
