The hate on Rhule lately is crazy, especially after a win. We haven’t beat a P4 opener in 22 years and people pissed because it should have been way better looking.

I thought our delusional fanbase had been humbled over the last decade but apparently not. A poster saying we are lowering expectations because Rhule wouldn’t be fired if we miss the playoffs. Another poster acting like we should have a stable of 5 star running backs every year because we are “Nebraska” is unbelievable delusion.

FYI - outside of our fanbase our program has been an absolute joke and literally has been for the basically the entire life of current recruits.

People dog Rhule for some of his social media, podcasts, etc. It’s part of his plan to build the brand and bring positive attention to the program to a bunch of young people who don’t give two craps about Nebraska because we are never talked about as we are always outside the top 25. With the elite 7-on-7 tournament hosting this summer he opened the eyes and caught the attention of some of the nations best. He’s trying to make it cool to go to Nebraska again. You can say “winning does that” - obviously but it’s tough to win without the recruits and additions.

You can dog him for his first round of hires - particularly Foley and Satt. Satt wasn’t even supposed to be the OC last year. More importantly he’s not sitting on these guys for 5 years - he made changes and we move on. We’ve seen coaches keep the same staff until the band got swallowed by the titanic.

We aren’t Nebraska of old and it took us 20 years to be a laughing stock in the big 10 it will take time to build something that lasts. Improvement happened last year and it’s obvious improvement in many facets of the game allowed for a victory this week.

Taking a program from NW levels of obscurity to compete with the best takes time and we made some strides last year and will continue to take strides this year and beyond.

The over-reactions from week 1 are crazy - “we have no number 2 back”, “our OL sucks”, “our d line sucks”, “Dylan can’t throw long”. So many people before the season said EJ couldn’t get it done.

The team knows what we got and the coaches will develop new schemes to help minimize our weak points and maximize our strengths.

All that to say - we have Coach who is improving our team and making us respectable. He’s building our brand for the future - for goodness sake, let the man cook. GBR!

I get the idea of wanting to be positive. And there is nothing wrong with that at all, it is a good thing!

The funny thing is that this place is super positive...about Cincy and how badass they are and how they would have a few players that would start at OSU and how their QB might win the Heisman.

No it’s about you just factually wrong in your post. There are 2 threads directly targeted at Rhule. One you posted in. Then you say this

Of course there are, fans are not happy and even the "happy" fans are not really all that happy they are just not as unhappy.

It is okay to admit that you were not thrilled with how things looked on Thursday.

I agree and there are concerns. But you can agree it has been over the top with consistent negativity after a win? Correct. Maybe you didn’t watch other games but many teams had some struggles and things to work out like every single year.

But seriously attacking someone’s character in 2 different threads. That’s just fans being unhappy? Sounds toxic over being unhappy about performance in a win.

Oh, the character stuff is stupid and hopefully mostly jokes but who knows.

I’m just peeved at the regression of the defense. Going into year 3 we should not be taking a clear step back on one side of the ball. I don’t think last year’s defense allows Cincy into the end zone.

I live and work about a mile from the stadium. Nobody cares about Nebraska football anymore. These people love and live husker volleyball, and won't speak a word about the football team...the few people who watched the game would rather sleep, and thought it was boring. The people who NEED Nebraska to be good understand that they have three games to feel good about themselves, and they will spin anything to justify the decisions made by Rhule. It doesn't matter, attendance is down, viewership is down, boosters will have to blow possible NIL money to keep the sell-out streak going, and individual donations have plummeted. Rhule has at best two years and we have to start over again. He was never a great coach...never lost less than 4 games in a season, wins fewer than 25% of his games against ranked opponents, and has absolutely tanked in multiple seasons. He is a .500 coach who got 80 million,,,those are facts. He is now old and any sheen he had is gone...glad he lost weight and isn't licking his lips like an addict but we have a mediocre coach, at premium price, and have to live with it.

Yeah, this is all lame.

I live in Omaha and people talk about Husker FB all the time, so do the radio stations and well, so do you.

Right. So, taking over an NFL stadium on a Thursday night was done by fans that don't care about Husker football anymore. I've heard some dumb **** on here lately but that may take the prize.😒

Not a fan of Rhule but I think we are moving in the right direction. Also, a lot of teams looks sloppy wk1. Let’s see what happens as the year goes on. Rhule’s seat is not comfy. A disappointing year and it’s scorching. He has pressure. And pressure is a privilege.

we lose that game most years. We won and we build on it.

Overreacting is almost as stupid as the people hating on Arch. There isn’t a QB in America who would have had a good game in that stadium. Let the season play.

Those fans lighting off fireworks I heard in Lincoln after the win must have just thought it was the 4th of July again.
I guess when I go to a game in Lincoln, everyone in Lincoln must not actually live in Lincoln, because all the people in Lincoln hate NU?

Yeah, that has to be it, according to that guy.

Arrowhead is half the size of memorial stadium. and it was close to Lincoln and Omaha, and the first game of the year. I got some real estate for you if you think fans are really excited about this husker team, and you think the donor and NIL situations are healthy. Pessimists have been right about this team for 10 years and you have been wrong time and time and time again. We are literally one of the worst teams in power 4 football over the last 10 years, Why would that change this year?

You do know that a lot of people don't even go into the stadium, they just tailgate...there have been games that "sold out" where 60k people went into the stadium. It takes a lot to hurt a fan base that would fill a football stadium to watch a volleyball scrimmage but the NU football program has done everything in its power to do so.

Now I'm beginning to think you're a teenager. You do realize there are a lot of people on this board who have been to both stadiums? You also realize there is a thing called Google? 10,000 seat difference.
