If his arm was in a sling, I’m guessing a shoulder, but I will defer to the medical experts on the board.Haven't heard what it was. Have you?
You should really take that approach with everythingIf his arm was in a sling, I’m guessing a shoulder, but I will defer to the medical experts on the board.
Oh, the irony. You should really take that approach with everything
Good one. Besides shoulder, they might also use a sling for a wrist or elbow issue, just to keep him from using the arm.If his arm was in a sling, I’m guessing a shoulder, but I will defer to the medical experts on the board.
I'm fairly certain it's a fractured clavicle. I have no connections with the program and no medical training, however I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night and I've heard that makes me a bonafide expert in pretty much everything.Good one. That’s a common football injury and would be another reason for a sling. Hopefully he heals quickly regardless of the injury.I'm fairly certain it's a fractured clavicle. Not enough PT to say that for sure, but he definitely looks the part.Williams is our best back ainec
It's not uncommon for an injury to be noticed only after the body cools down a bit. That is likely the explanation here. What was weird was on the rewatch the last play I saw him on the field he basically ran fine to the boundary and had no contact with anyone.
So provides an update, and there is NO new information. Why even post that. It told us exactly what we knew to this point.....Iowa football coach Kirk Ferentz gives injury updates on Reece Vander Zee, Kamari Moulton & Bryce George

IOWA CITY — Iowa football wide receiver Reece Vander Zee will likely miss multiple games to start the 2025 season due to injury, head coach Kirk Ferentz said following the Hawkeyes' 34-7 win over Albany on Aug. 30.
Ferentz said Vander Zee felt discomfort in his foot leading up to Week 1.
“I don’t know how long he’ll be out," Ferentz said. "But nobody saw it coming, including him. So, I imagine a couple of weeks here. We’ll see.”
Vander Zee was seen before the game on crutches and wearing a boot on his left foot.
The Rock Rapids, Iowa, product was a standout freshman last season. He burst onto the scene in his Hawkeye debut, catching two touchdowns against Illinois State. He finished his freshman campaign with 14 receptions for 176 yards and three touchdowns. He appeared in nine games, eight of which were starts.
Iowa's injury luck didn't get better on Aug. 30.
Ferris State transfer offensive lineman Bryce George suffered an injury pregame. The three-time Division II national champion transferred to Iowa over the offseason and was expected to be a depth piece on the offensive line.
“It was a freak thing," Ferentz said of George's injury. "He was obviously devastated. It’s hard. I think he’ll be back. I don’t know how soon. But anyway, you’re just not counting on that (to happen).”
Kamari Moulton, who was Iowa’s second leading rusher last season and started the game against Albany, left in the first quarter and was declared out before halftime. He rushed three times for 22 yards before exiting.
Though Iowa has depth at running back — and showed it with more than 300 rushing yards against the Great Danes — Moulton’s exit is concerning.
“We’ll see," Ferentz said of Moulton. "I don’t think it’s the end of the world. But we’ll know more (Sunday) probably, (or) Monday."
