on here to someone whose name I can't remember. The last two plays demonstrated why I did and why whomever it was defended him. Tonight I apologize...I WAS WRONG. For tonight anyways...

Great win for the good guys! 6 beers and 7 shots in and work in about 5.5 hrs lol. Celebrate for me guys!! GBR!!

They were targeting him all night for a reason. He made a play tonight.

He is undersized but does make plays here and there.
And that last part is the reason he plays. He's a weak link and should be replaced, but he's got experience and probably makes enough plays in practice to just kinda stay in the top unit. In truth, there's got to be a better option back there.

You can’t say he’s doesn’t play with heart, I bagged on him but was happy for him on the int. every team will target him because of his height

Our secondary was great. Marshall was good. Dononvon jones was amazing. Didn’t really notice Wright. Hartzog made a couple clutch plays. We didn’t have a bunch of penalties.

Guys on cincy didn’t look open except on comeback routes

Eta: Buford was a stud too. Singleton played aggressive but sometimes that cost him

Do we play any more decent teams with a mobile qb? Michigan is the only one that comes to mind and I honestly have no idea what Underwood will be

Never apologize for being correct. Hartzog made a great play to end the game, but let's not pretend Hartzog isn't a major liability. Cincinnati clearly agrees with your analysis and so will every team on our schedule.

On the plus side, Jones, Wright, and Marshall looked solid last night. Jones should start over Hartzog.

That’s what I’m hoping. Especially if we’re forced to load the box on run D, forcing the DBs to play man.

Hartzog is the least of our worries on defense. We are fast and athletic in our back 7-8. But our line is a huge liability right now. Actually both lines are a liability. At least our defensive line guys can plead inexperience. But our veteran offensive line should be better than it is. I think they are poorly coached. But you can’t get rid of our offensive line coach. He bought job security when he convinced his nephew to flip from Georgia

You are underestimating how good Dontay Corleone and Jake Golday are on defense. Both are NFL dudes. Cincinnati called a great defensive game. This is the deepest most talented OL's I've seen at NU in over a decade. (That isn't saying much...)

However, you are correct about Hartzog and the Dline. It's going to be a long year on that side of the ball.

I want to see more Ochoa and Willis Mcgahee on the edge with Lenhardt playing a 2 technique. Dasan McCullough is not it. He is slow, unathletic, and not physical enough to play on the LOS.

slow and undersized, gets beat and targeted yet game after game finds himself in the right spot at the right time. not always a game saving int. many times coming up with big shoe string tackles and just messing things up for our opponents. all teams need a player like him. he's smart and is a magnate for the ball. Rigby?

Cincy paid the price for targeting him. Other teams will have to know it will be high risk high reward going after him. Thankfully Neb ended up on the right side of it last night

Many of remember when Hartzog made a big impression as a true freshman. It would qualify the often used phrase “he’s got potential.” He was in and out and up and own and moved around through the years with the last two mostly at safety/nickel.

He is often picked on and rightfully so. He bites on first moves badly and is often burned. He does however have good speed and great hands. A blind person can see the opposing teams looking for his number in games. Consequently he is going to have many opportunities to either be the goat or the hero, sometimes in the same game.

If he is not capable of making plays, he shouldn’t be on the field. In his case he takes the wild swings between hang your head poor technique to head spinning great play, man, you saved the day. Both praise and questions will be his lot I am afraid.

Cincinnati didn’t target him on the last play. He was playing a rover ( safety)do you people actually understand that little about the game.
