If GW and HC were to meet up in a region championship, whoever has home advantage (Which would likely be GW) would have a sellout crowd. They might even have to consider moving the game to a place Averett for more space to hold the crowd. I would not be surprised if Basketball and Football (possibly even baseball or softball) State Titles were to reside in 4D.

Halifax and GW are going to be good in the region. Watch out for Glass, they have more experience, and the new coach has settled in and has the program looking good.

JF lost 6 seniors, and 5 of those were the starters that led them to the State semis. They have a new head coach, so I think they'll be what Glass was last year. Who knows.

I think EC Glass will be very very good. Jefferson Forest won't be as good as last year but could still be dangerous. The addition of Halifax is huge.

GW will be smaller but quicker. Halifax has length. All things still run through Danville.

JF has themselves one heck of a coach in Jeff Monroe. Even with the graduation of several starters, he knows how to get a team going and he loves to play an extremely aggressive and intense style.

GW has Kapone Barley who, since Bamisile isn’t playing, is my choice for 4A State Player of the Year. GW is the favorite to win 4A again this year imo.. Halifax is a dark horse.

Tough road to repeat...especially with a new cast. Can't have missteps. Will have major success in Region D, can see them and Halifax in the semis/championship. Halifax has a new cast as well...will be interested to see how both new look teams put it together. Will be taking trips around the state to see teams play, especially Lake Taylor, Louisa, Monacan, Glass, and others.

Same here. I’ll be catching a lot of 757 ball this winter. Also, check out John Marshall & Trinity here in Richmond. They’re both absolutely loaded!

If you’re coming out to SoVa to watch a game, I highly recommend coming to see the Halifax @ GW game. I’d have to check but I think it’s January 24th (Friday night). The gym packs out every time for it.

The talk of the Piedmont will be Magna Vista this year. They run 4 guards and will be fun to watch. They can all shoot the three and get to the rack. Mostly sophomores and juniors. I got them as a top 5 team in 3A.

Got a chance to see them play over the summer. One guard can shoot and hit from anywhere. Had another kid who looks extremely athletic and did well during the summer but barely does anything during the regular season and kind of just exists on the court. Not sure what's that about.

They look real good. I can see them maybe even beating Martinsville, GW and Halifax this year. The Piedmont will have 4 teams that can win a state championship.

Martinsville hadn’t had a losing season since 2012. They might not be as good but they’ll still have at least a .500 season

Easy guys, hard to detect sarcasm on here. The Dogs will be competitive. Go about 7-8 deep. Find out Friday, they open up with Northside then go to Dan River next week.
