I was not at the state meet but didn’t Lloyd pop that 50’ jump right after Grosserode? Just what I gathered from twitter.

Grosserode's jump came on his very first attempt, Lloyd's came on his second attempt.

It seems silly when you look at the results, but what else do you suggest? Ignore the wind?
Yes, does a 1mph difference equal 1+ feet of distance? Or have a wind correction factor. I just think it's silly.

You have to set a wind limit somewhere. Lloyd probably would have uncorked 50+ without that little bit of wind, but it was unfortunate timing. It is what it is.

I couldn't agree more. Either have a formula to decide it, not allow the jump, or disregard the "record". I'd be embarrassed to enter that into History. Serious. This is a total travesty.

@Alum-Ni I feel like you would know this….what is the legal wind mph? I went to NSAA site and it says that Lloyd’s jump had 2.7 mph wind and Grosserode’s had 1.7 mph.

2.0 is legal, and it's meters per second
Yes, it is 2.0 meters/second.

To make that number make a little more sense:

2.0 meters/second = 4.47 miles per hour (so not a big wind by any means)

2.7 meters/second = 6.03 miles per hour
