So far, here’s my record through the 8-Man Playoffs:

Round One: 30/32 (missed Hi-Line & Pleasanton)
Round Two: 14/16 (missed Tri County & Weeping Water)
Quarterfinals: 7/8 (missed Dundy County-Stratton)
Running Total: 51/56
Let me know what you've got!

CLASS D1

Dundy County-Stratton over Tri County
Cross County over Burwell

These are 4 very quality teams. Dundy County made me believe after watching their big win over Stanton. Cross County and Burwell could be one of the most physical 8-man games you see all year.

CLASS D2

Falls City Sacred Heart over Sandhills/Thedford
Bruning-Davenport/Shickley over Central Valley

Sacred Heart is darn good. I think their game at Sandhills could be very interesting, but ultimately they win because they’ve got more weapons. BDS is so physical; it’ll be interesting to see if they can contain Central Valley’s speed.

***Side Note — Central Valley defeated Fremont-Mills, IA earlier this season. Fremont-Mills just advanced to Iowa’s 8-Player semifinals. I think that shows the quality of Nebraska 8-Man Football.

Dundy over Tri County
Cross County over Burwell

Sandhills-Thedford over FCSH
BDS over Central Valley

These are all great semi final matchups. And they wouldn’t have happened without the new format. Very happy the East and west split has been eliminated from the round of 16.

In D2 had they not reseeded it would have been Central Valley and Sandhill-Thedford in one matchup and FCSH against BDS so not a bad thing as both were the 1 and 2 seeds.

In D1 Burwell and Dundy County were the 1 and 2 in the west while Tri County and Cross County were 1 and 2 in the east. So not a huge difference in what was projected.
Not trying to rattle the cages too much but probably just about the same semifinal games. Very good matchups still but I believe still would have had great match-ups before reseeding.

D1:
I think Dundy learned a little about traveling far and having to bring their A game from the start. They can't afford to have sluggish start, Tri Co is very good and have to have a fast start. Game is close but size of Dundy takes toll. Like Dundy over Tri Co.

Can Burwell Stop the 2 headed monster and Cross Co? Seems to be trouble for everyone else. Gone be some points scored in this one but I think the 2 headed monster is too much for the longhorns to stop. I like Cross Co. over Burwell.

D2:
I picked FCSH to lose the last round, thought Osceola ground game would give them more fits. Should have known better to go against Coach Goltz. The travel will be a factor and this game is going to be very physical. I think the physicalness keeps S/Th around but FCSH finds ways to win these big games. Like FCSH over S/TH.

The other side the bracket is interesting. Lots of athletes on the field for this one, can see some scoring going on here. Both can put up some points and both had some size as well. Both Os can think outside the box and have played some solid opponents throughout the year, that always helps at this point in the season.. I think the Central Valley O and their athletes are too much though. like Central Valley over DCS.

DCS over Tri County. Tri County is the only team I have not seen play. But DCS... Man they look good.

Cross County over Burwell. That running game for Cross County.. yikes. But if there is a team out there to stop it, Burwell would be the one. Would not be surprised if CC wins by multiple TDs.

D2
FCSH over ST in a defensive battle. This one was a tough choice.
Central Valley over BDS. High scoring affair here.

I am taking Tri County and Cross County.
But I am flipping everything in D2 as I have seen 3 of these teams play.
Sandhills/ Thedford could beat FCSH but the coaching and overall experience of FCSH will take over like it did las week. ST will lead at half and eventually fall.

Central Valley is the only team I haven't seen yet but I am fairly certain they haven't seen a line like BDS with 4 200+lb kids that can move across the middle. BDS is a clock control team that wears opponents out I pick them by 20.

Have you seen the size of Tri County? Very big up front across the board but unlike some teams that are big, they are fast and mobile as well. Size will not be the decider in that game. Speed will.

Don't sleep on DCS's speed! Diaz and Myer have quite the top gear! Add to it that Diaz doesn't want to be tackled.
