Wow....just a few years ago both of these schools were top tier programs. Glad they could make this work though, probably saved one if not both of their programs.
It’s a good move for both schools and communities. Hope they are successful.
They do not have a grace period of 2 years. The only teams that are eligible for a 2-year playoff exemption because of an enrollment too high are teams that had been previously established and eligible in the prior cycle. Exter-Milligan-Friend was not an established team in the last cycle, therefore, they do not get a 2-year exemption.
I'm not sure that this is true. I think the grace period would only apply to an existing school or co-op. That said I think we're going to find that a lot of schools are eligible for 8 man in this next cycle that we aren't expecting because we just don't have the data of the male population.
