LOL when he committed to Oregon I posted there is a 10% chance he actually enrolls there, don’t be surprised if when it’s actually time to enroll if he goes some where else.

Unfortunately, I feel like you could say that for probably half of college athletes now. But hey, good for him for getting that money. Lifelong security if played right.
First, the word "commit" is being seriously misappropriated in the case of recruiting HS players. Also, maybe the kid figured he could get the "keys to the car" sooner at USC, (figuratively, not literally). Oregon's last 3 QBs, I believe, have been upperclass transfers from the portal who have started elsewhere.

Maybe QB Williams flipped to USC after having the time after his season ended to view Oregon offense video. Possibly some reasons were in play that kept the ball from rarely going down the field, particularly during the 2nd part of the season. I saw so many Dillon Gabriel balls thrown largely horizontal and underneath that did not move the chains. Their passing game seemed easily defended as the season wore on. Very embarrassing performance in the CFP quarterfinal resulted along with extremely porous defense.
He is local so it matters to us but in 2025 this is a big nothing burger....get your money kid.

Sure, but losing sight of the tens of thousands of scholarship dollars already granted to the players to either pursue a degree or enter the NFL's farm system of college football tends to occur. But, this is where we are now.
This is one of the rules I think should be in place for NIL, you must take at least one snap with a school before you collect a dime. No issue with kids getting paid, but it should be earned not just thrown at them out of the gate.
I meant earned by at least playing one game at that school, not necessarily based on performance. Call it the "Quinn Ewers rule". How much did he collect from OSU without ever taking a snap?

Does commitment mean just a player or school as well? Rumor is Oregon may have said he was their Qb of the class but then they hosted the top QB in the country after he decommitted from Georgia and hes probably going there now. Just wondering since everyone just assumes they know how recruiting goes and its always the kids fault if/when they switch.
Top programs are always bringing in top talent at some point you are going to have to beat someone out, if you are afraid of who they may bring in don’t commit to them. USC is currently recruiting another top tier QB, if he commits then what?
True but if a business tells you your their guy and then months later before you get there they bring and pursue someone then maybe they didnt want you as bad as they said? And if someones told them aren't bringing in anyone else in the same class so you commit and then they do, then why go to some place that lied to get you to committ before you even got there.
Prediction. Where ever he ends up is not where he finishes. That seems to be the norm with D1 qbs.

That Alabama kid (T Kadyn Proctor) who transferred to Iowa in January after Nick Saban announced his retirement, got a bunch of money, then not even a couple of months later he's back at Alabama... that was outrageous.
