If I’ve learned anything it’s that is Catholic kids are better football players than public kids.
There are some families from a certain 2A school that would not like hearing their children being called Catholic.
There aren't enough hours in the day and words in your vocabulary to ever convince me you have any clue about football. I do applaud your effort though.

They were. But we would be kidding ourselves if we didn't acknowledge that they were a distant 2nd to althoffs success behind hill. I watched them struggle vs kaneland with hill out. They couldn't get anything going offensively vs Belleville east when Hill sat most of the 2nd half. And brown (the backup rb) is no slouch.
I’d venture to say Hill told the coach- don’t take me out. This is my last high school game. Let’s go out with a bang! The kid is pretty amazing. It’s been 34 years since Althoff took home the hardware. Let them boys enjoy it.
That 8a playoff team didn’t beat a single good team to make the playoffs althoff know what they did cherry picking their schedule
Let's be fair - this is a natural game. East, West and Althoff always played for the city championship. They packed Township Stadium for this game with East. I've said here before, I asked the West principal when we'd renew that match up and he said it is not likely to happen.
I get it’s a neutral game but althoff has been saying they’ve been playing higher class teams but those teams are Alton, granite city, east, collinsville, at least thrown in a couple good teams
We did not know GC was losing it's QB. Collinsville had a two-year streak of playoffs playing 5A teams - who knew they would revert to form. Alton sucks ... but it hard to fill out a dance card if there is no upside for the opponent. Who wants to lose to a 1A team?
That’s my point tho althoff could have played better teams then they did they knew the athletes they had and instead of testing themselves they scheduled a bunch of teams that everybody knew wasn’t really good granite city hasn’t been good in how long? Alton? And again it’s not to take anything away from the kids it’s more so the coaches and the administration playing that schedule and not petitioning to play up with those athletes on your roster is just corny
Althoff will get back to the old schedule soon. At the end of the Turner era, after ALL the talent left and no one would come ... oh, I have stories ... we had both Ritter and Vianny on the schedule. That Ritter team had LB3 and Vianny had Kyren Williams ...

We will be moving up next year by rule. And we clear out the cupboard - almost every starter was a senior.
Yea. Def not a situation where althoff is seeking out weak opponents. East has def not been that the past few years. And this is a game that should be scheduled most years anyway.
This isn’t his first full class. A lot of moving parts but, well deserved. They are good enough to win 3a this year. Next year will be different. You know better than anyone that kids like Hill and Hickey are very hard to come by. You have to capitalize while they are there. This is what Althoff did. Congrats!
