HS nobody unless they are playing LWE. 😂

College Notre Dame. Something about being independent and they come off Smug.

Pro’s the Packers damn cheese heads! Hahahaha

West sucks! Althoff and West were only 1.5 miles seperated down Main Street. East, West and Althoff all shared Towship Stadium, located on West's campus. They would set their schedules and we played mostly Saturday games and we were in the carppiest lockerroom. We never showered there - pack your stuff and get back to sanitary at Althoff.

It was a stated goal each year for Althoff to shutout West. They did not score varsity points against us while I was in high school.

I still remember their RB, Kevin Rumph (RIP), who was talking some craziness about getting 100 yards on us, ending the game on the sideline with 0 yards on 10 carries.

Benet controlled our conference in the early 80s but were the largest enrollment school in the conference. So I never liked them.

Detroit Pistons in the late 80s.

Lakers.

Detroit Redwings when they had Probert and I had Blackhawks season tickets

North Stars with Dino Ciccerelli.

The current White Sox

98% Run only HS Football teams. These games end fast and I feel I don't get much bang out of my buck $$$.

Bears Love/Hate Relationshipa

Packers when the Bears are going well. When Bears are playing bad I root for the Packers since they are the closest team to Chicago.

Cavs/Heat/Lakers. You get what I mean. Jordan is the goat.

Cleveland for being gutless and changing their nickname and mascot
Illinois for ditching the Chief
Washington for being gutless of ditching the Redskins name with 86% of Native Americans who supported the Redskins name!
Morris for ditching the Redskins name... Pure gutlessness!
North Dakota for ditching their mascot
Marquette for ditching their nickname "Warriors" Pure gutlessness
St. John's for ditching their nickname....
Syracuse for ditching their nickname... pure gutlessness
NBA and the NFL for numerous reasons.

A few cousins went to Wheaton Warrenville & are insulted they had their school closed but renamed Wheaton Central Wheaton Warrenville South. Wolverines!!!!

Any team that is playing against the Yankees although I don't hate any MLB teams. I do dislike Jerry Reinsdorf and the McCaskeys intensely.

As for HS football, if you had asked this 15-20 years ago I could have given you a few teams. But now, what's the point? These are kids out there just trying to win the game.

Of course I do hope the Packers lose every game they play and the same goes for the St. Louis Blues.

As I have gotten older, I rarely root against other teams. The only school I really have any distaste for is Benet, and that is mostly due to the arrogance of their fans. As a parent, every time my kids played there, regardless of the sport, the Benet faithful, especially the parents, were always very condescending and insufferable.

I don't mind saying I dislike institutions at all, rather say that than the fans.

That said I completely agree on a team ITT.

R-B I have a great friend with a kid there so I have moved to indifferent. I hope they smell zoo poop still tho.

“Christians” there…only when it is convenient.

During the playoffs I root for all of the CCL teams, so I guess I'm rooting against all the other teams.

That Locked up Conference of the Fox Valley- I'm Against all 9 teams, I do like The Triple Option!!
Now break the conference and give us some non Conference games. Stop dodging the state of Illinois. (Not talking about IHSA playoff)

The beast known as Mt. Carmel. While I like them more now than used to, I had a lot of hate for them in the mid to late 90s. I was the ballboy at a school and the first time I got a chance to see the mighty caravan was in the second round of the playoffs. They came to our place and I will never forget the never ending amount of players that they had. There were four separate entrances to our field and there were players coming out of all 4 spots. They must have had 90-100 guys on the playoff roster and I don't think they had a single guy going both ways. We had a very talented team, and were actually up 17-7 going into halftime. Then we ran out of gas about half way through the third and eventually lost 42-23. They went on to complete the perfect season going 14-0 and winning 5A. Being at a public school, I was told at a young age that the private schools get to recruit players and so I had great disdain for the private schools but especially Mt. Carmel. Now being much older and more mature, I still don't love the privates but I certainly don't hate them like I used to. Furthermore, the CCL is by far the best high school football conference in Illinois and I enjoy watching the matchups week in and week out.

Fremd & Maine South..

Fremd vs Palatine is beyond a HUGE rivalry. Given I bleed Scarlett & Gray, by definition I must dislike them.

Back in the late 1970s in Park Ridge, Maine East vs Maine South was as big a rivalry as Palatine vs Fremd is here in Palatine. Back then the athletic prowess of both schools was comparable.
