It's Thursday!! Just found out that college kids call it "Friday Junior." That's adorable. In the CPL we call it "Time to get to work!" It's October, so that means 3:45 starts! Oh boy! On to the Picks....

Lindblom vs Englewood STEM
Battle of the unbeatens! Unbeaten you say? When I think of unbeaten, I think of the all time hot bar appetizer...Cheese Curds. Fried pickles? Yeah, Waffle fries? Ok. Mini corn dogs? Getting close, but nothing tops the cheese curds when you are downing a few cold ones...unless it's that delicious brown gravy in Poutine....

Corliss vs Julian
Fun fact. This matchup was the first of a lot of Hot CPL Thursday Action for me. A total of 11 people in the stands (both sides.) No more than 15 kids dressed on either team. Mismatched helmets. Linemen wearing single digit jerseys and running backs wearing 73. Two coaches on each sideline. Mix in half a dozen Gately Dogs, and I was hooked. No clue who won, but I do remember how my stomach felt later that night...

Lincoln Park vs Raby
A few years back, my wife had some friends in from out of town. They ended up going to a comedy club in Lincoln Park. Apparently, one of the comedians had some one liners about Chicago. Unfortunately, my wife's friends thought everyone from Chicago loved these jokes, so they repeated them....over and over... for their entire stay....a few that I can't forget:
  • What you talkin ’bout Willis Tower?
  • I went to Chicago for the food, but stayed because the weather forced me to hibernate.
  • What do you do to keep a bear out of your backyard? - Put up a goal post!
Needless to say, I am now always busy when those people come to town.

Just noticed that Solorio has 3 O's. You think that the 3 O's in Solorio would beat the 15 S's in Corlissssssssssssssssssssssssss? Nope!

Lindblom vs Englewood STEM
Ghhost, you drop all the apps in your preview and don't give me a Lindblom'n Onion?!?!? Outback is going to be quite disappointed in you, probably take away those half price apps next time you're in. Give me the Onions!

Corliss vs Julian
Such a scintillating sensational spirited set of situations. Snakessssss

Lincoln Park vs Raby
Raby's claim to fame is that punt at Hanson from forever ago, that thing lives on for eternity thanks to social media. Good ol Hanson Stadium is thankfully not living on for eternity though, should be interesting to see how bad CPS botches that renovation. Can't wait to check it out when it finally re-opens in 2040, thanks to 4 strikes, a labor shortage, a mayor reclassifying money, and a Raby in a pear tree.

Senn vs Von Steuben
Sen. Von Stuben is the name of the villain in my new HS football thriller that will be released straight to streaming. In this adventure the senator works to overthrow the rising power of CPL Football as they begin to dominate the gridiron. Fortunately enough once castaway Jaton Jackson comes out from hiding to try and thwart his efforts. Look for the release of this blockbuster, the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Solorio vs Back of the Yards
Solorio has more vowels than consonants, both of these teams have more loses than wins. What's that tell us? Who knows? Give me FENGER!

With the NIL rules it’s really a shame that Outback and lindblom haven’t gotten together yet.
