I use the little engine that could only in the context of whomever they play from the big 5, LWE, Marist, Barrington, MS and possibly HF, LA will not be favored to win the game. They will be the underdog. In terms of size, Marist 1700, LA 2150, LWE 2200, MS 2600, HF 2900 and Barrington at a whopping 3100. Yes LA is big compared to Marist, but side by side with the publics, well, I'll let you decide.

LWE is over 2900 now.

Yeah they aren't getting the love. Lots of close games against the good competition but always come out on top so far this season.

I may end up eating my words - but if I was a 5-4 low seed in 8A: I think I would want to try my luck against them for the 1st round game rather than LWE, Marist, MS, Loyola. I have not seen them play so I am not sure why I feel that way,.... maybe just looking at the scores of some of the games is making me feel that way?

I didn’t know that giving an opinion on the strength of 2 teams I’ve seen play was bashing. If they meet & my prediction comes true I’ll expect your apology.

Not talking just about this post, was simply pointing out that for a school who you made clear you don't consider a rival you seem to offer a lot of negative opinions on them. As for an apology you won't need one as I agree that a potential LA-Marist playoff would be a Rambler victory.

If I had to lay odds I'd say LWE goes off @ 3-1, LA @ 4-1, MS @ 6-1 and Edwardsville @ 10-1. LWE looks very strong in all 3 phases. From the outside looking in it seems the closing of LWN bolstered the talent pool at the remaining 3 LW schools as they all had strong seasons.

I was just reading the Trib's all time teams and noticed that LWE's 2005 team had LB brothers that were named Gus and Jon as does this years team. I hate to say it but I believe in such weird coincidences. That 2005 team was outstanding.
