I remember time when someone asked Billy Wagner how tall he was. Wagner said it depended on whether he was standing on his money or not. If he was standing on his money, he was ten feet tall

Bart Starr. Ken Stabler
You got me there completely forgot about those two. And I was always a Raiders fan. I guess my point should have been nothing under Saban. I personally think Young will be a bust. At Alabama these QB's are playing with the best receivers, and they have forever to throw the ball things change in the NFL.

Stabler is one of only three Qbs to win both a college national championship and super bowl. The other two are western Pa Joe's.

When Carolina traded for the #1 pick, I predicted they would choose Stroud. I’m sure Carolina did their due diligence on Young. But, yeah, he looks like Marty McFly out there.

Sometimes QBs on great college teams appear to be better than they really are because they are surrounded by great players at all positions. Someone commented once that when C J Stroud played for OSU, it was like a seven on seven drill because he was hardly ever pressured.

Wally Richardson had a great junior year (58% completion, 18 TD and 6 int). Among others, he had Bobby Engram, Joe Jurevicisus, Freddie Scott to throw to and Jeff Hartings, Marco Rivera, and Phil Ostrowski on the OL and Jon Wittman and Brian Milne as RB/blocking backs. In 1996, only Jurevicius was back and the primo OL were gone. Wallys stats slipped to 52 % completions, 7 TD and 8 int.

Same thing happened to Trace. 2017 stats (67%, 28 TD, 10 int). 2018 stats (53%, 18 TD and 7 int). Plus he got hammered a lot in 2018 and as injured. He just didn't have the same supporing cast he had in 2017.
