Wow- summer is coming to an end and my favorite time of the year is coming up very soon. I am looking forward to seeing ISU getting stomped hopefully by KSU to start this season off right… I think Iowa is going to have a sneaky good season as long as the Offense has improved and the defense is once again stout we are in good shape. Looking forward to this season and let the Kinnick magic begin… GO HAWKS!

Here's the thing - "sneaky" implies experiencing an unexpected result.

We have a ton of experience that will be taking the field:

We have an ULTRA-experienced, highly-productive quarterback.
WR transfers that were productive at their previous school(s).
Experienced RBs, OL, and DL.
Five-star recruit playing free safety.
26-year (27?) Head Coach
Lester now in his second year and should be comfy cozy with the program.
George Barnett has been around long enough and has his players.
Phil Parker and Seth Wallace.

"Sneaky"? No, because we should expect a lot with this group in 2025, IMO. 9+ wins or it's a disappointment.

I'm cautiously optimistic we're going to be playing meaningful football in November.

For it to be a special season 2 things must happen:

-One of our questionable groups is going to have to have a breakout player.

I'm cautiously optimistic we're going to be playing meaningful football in November.

One of the WRs will have a breakout year relatively speaking simply because we'll throw the ball more.

I think the biggest needed "surprise" would be great play from the DBs. KFz teams will always lean on Phil's D.
