That's not true at all.

Moore is dead man walking.

Less officials, less communication and a 4-year probation is dangerous.

Put Franklin in that situation and you would sing a different tune.

A $20-$35M hit hurts as well.
Moore isn't in their future plans regardless

20-35M will be handled by a few donors

If Franklin won a title most wouldn't care. Morris didn't.

They spent $10mm on a HS QB. This is nothing to them.
Difference is they admitted to a level 2 to the COI. Over the next four years, they can be cited and an investigation is triggered. It's hanging over their heads and every cfb coach in America knows it now. I think Michigan takes a big hit here on the recruiting trail and on the field. Personally, I would have invoked the postseason ban but getting them to admit cheating and not appeal was about as good as you could get under the bylaws.

I think you’re wrong, but we’ll see. I think we’ll see Michigan with a top notch recruiting class this year and going forward.

Considering OSU got penalized more for tattoo-gate, this is just so disgraceful on so many levels. But, not unexpected. Michigan will gladly pay this and Harbaugh will be joyously picking his nose in the NFL.
well, kinda...apples and oranges as regards who now controls cfb..and let's drop the tatt stuff..the players were selling memorabilia to a known drug dealer who was under surveillance by the fbi..tressel was dirty AF previously at YSU..do your research, osu players have admitted to getting paid at osu....cfb hasn't been pristine in a long time, stop pretending that stallions and harbaugh "broke" college football

Had zero impact on their performance on the field and they should have been paid then anyway. Give USC their wins back too.

Admitting it doesn't mean guilt--it means they're agreeing to it to end the never ending investigation. It's like a civil case when you agree to pay a settlement. it doesn't mean your guilty.

What kid isn't going to want to play for a program that wants to win? What's your spin here?

I don't understand how you believe this hurts recruiting. It makes no sense--you're just desperate to believe it will.

Honestly, what's the pitch that will prevent a kid from going there when ultimately it's about money? Nothing will happen to Michigan--they're a cash cow--the NCAA is full of cowards. We ended the NCAA's power years ago--accept it.

We aren't in court counselor.

I'm on the recruiting trail:

Michigan only wins if they cheat. They said so to the NCAA.
Their coach is a lame duck.
They can't have you on an official.
They can't communicate with you.
They are on probation. You could be at a school that gets banned from post-season or worse even after further minor infractions.

There is no spin. That's all facts.

I'm no fan of the NCAA and it's evident they have less authority than even a decade ago but Joe Bar stool has no idea how this works. The NCAA lawyers get what they can get when they get it. I would have preferred a one-year postseason ban added.

lol, ok...paying players under the table to come to osu, paying them to stay at osu, had no on field effect?..that's your theory?..getting elite talent is how you win, so if you illegally get that talent, i'd say that is pretty significant to the product on the field..that's why saben is bent out of shape, because bama and the $ec no longer have a monopoly on paying players..at best you're making a bad faith argument, at worst you're dumb...

UM on the recruiting trail:

Michigan only wins if they cheat. They said so to the NCAA. will do anything to win. You want to win games, you are a winner.

Their Our current coach is a lame duck the new guy who we just paid 10s of millions will be the coach for the next 5 years.

They We can't have you on an official, but we have some friends that can help you make arrangements.

They We can't communicate with you, but we can have this conversation and some Intermediaries can help out, they are the ones with the bags of NIL cash.

They We are on probation. You could be at a school that gets banned from post-season or worse even after further minor infractions. There is the transfer portal if that happens. Most of our best players opt out the the bowl games to get ready for the NFL combine. If we make the playoffs the ban probably will not take place until the following year. Did I mention the NIL cash?

those recruiting sanctions will be spread out over time, won't amount to much...words on the street after underwood flip and this decision, you will be compensated at UM, and that's what most kids care about

And they're going to say "how much money are you offering?" None of that hinders recruiting. Michigan will say...we didn't cheat, we settled; they ensure them Morris is staying just like all programs that hire coaches, etc
Most importantly, you're delusional if you think a small infraction will lead to a ban. They will not do anything to Michigan. $$$$

The money means nothing.
The show cause nonsense means nothing.
The official visit money reduction means nothing.
It was a massive waste of time by the NCAA other than to tell every program to pay no attention to the rules.
Correct you are sir! The joke is on every B1G and college football coach & AD. The NCAA greenlighted cheating.

That $ is chump change to Michigan. They admitted to cheating and the NCAA essentially said, no big deal.
Four year probation. Yeah, if they have a violation again the NCAA will once again look the other way.

What do you disagree with?
This isn't defending Michigan. This is accepting college football in 2025 and how little this impacts Michigan.
I'd have been thrilled if they got real penalties but that was never going to happen

I never said death penalty was coming.

This a level 2 investigation. Since you are 5, here goes:

The NCAA said in their COI letter: we know you cheated, we are ready to go to the penalty phase. Respond. Michigan lawyers did so, admitting infractions and acknowledging so in exchange for not facing a postseason ban.

The NCAA responded by fining the university 50k and the football program 10% of revenue in a fiscal year (minimum of $20M and could be as high as $35M);
- Further, Harbaugh received a 10-year ban on top of his 5-year show cause
- Moore received a 2-year show cause (he's effectively a lame duck, every cfb coach in the country are telling recruits UM will not renew him)
- The football program also received a 25% reduction in official visits and a reduction in communications during the next open period.

But more importantly, at level 2, you are on a 4-year probation. Any infractions and trust me there will be many submitted by people who hate UM, can result in further fines, scholarship reductions and yes, a postseason ban.

Michigan admitted they cheated. I'm satisfied plus they are on probation. OSU and PSU are drafting their communications to kids right now.

What's UM's endowment? interest for what like half a year covers the fine does it not? tax free i might add I' sure they got some accounting folks that can pick a costcenter to ledger that under....maybe public relations?

There was never gonna be a vacated title as NCAA has zero to do with 1-A football championships.

My issue with this is if Moore gets a 2-year show cause, he should be out of a job NOW and not after some lame duck period and certainly not a ‘choose your adventure’ 3-game suspension. That would really handcuff this year’s team so close to the season starting.

Just a heads up for the board, "King Lando" is a Michigan troll. He took over the other Rivals board about 2 years ago and was allowed to troll freely and without penalty because he was friends with Richie the board owner and moderator. His handle in the other board was Lando Commando".

His schtick was as a know it all who posted passive aggressive attacks on Penn State. He claims to be a PSU graduate, but cannot name a single dormatory, a single course, a single main campus building for courses, a single street, or anything else from his "PSU" days. He will defend all things Michigan. Just a fair warning Lando: You aren't in Kansas anymore Toto....this board will throw your Maize and Blue a$$ out on the street in seconds flat. Anyways, just wanted to let everyone know who "King Lando" really is.

He's about to enter the "Find out" phase of "F around and find out". He's on the McAndrew board now....his little buddy Richie the mod, can't save him on here. This will be thoroughly enjoyable watching him get destroyed like a Sherrone Moore text message 😂 😂 😂
