And we should have a place kicker on there as well.

Gramatica was 77% on fg’s for his career, Janikowski 79.5%, Nate hit 80.8%

Never heard it myself but I respect the chant from MSU fans in the 1960s, "Kill Bubba! Kill!"

Friends and I shared pizzas with the Fighting Illini's Al Brosky and his wife, circa 1989 or so. At the time I had no idea he was an Illini great until friends told me when dinner broke up. He was just a nice older guy who seemed to know football.

Could not be more proud!

Make no mistake, Kirk learned something very special from his time with Reggie
In my long life I have never heard fans cheer so hard when a punter jogged onto the field. "Reg-gie! Reg-gie! Reg-gie!" 49 yards later the bad guys are starting from their own ten yard line.

An excellent punter is a defensive player's best friend.

With Roby, it was both distance and hang time. Man, I can still see those punts soaring high above Kinnick Stadium and stopping for lunch before falling back to earth far, far away.

Roby still kicked a football like nobody on the planet. No disrespect to Taylor, but when Roby punted it was like a rocket launching and you could hear a BOOM when the ball hit his foot.

Taylor may have been better with his accuracy but from a pure power point Roby was God.

I think it was 1981 when Reggie averaged 49.8 yards per punt. Think about it, that was an average punt for Reggie Roby. Well short of a good punt by his standards.

His kickoffs routinely went through the uprights. That Hawkeye from Waterloo had a leg and a half.
Unfortunately, Reggie struggled with field goals despite his intimidating kick-offs, so lost that gig. A friend from Waterloo said Reggie seemingly never missed in high school.

For anyone who didn't see Reggie play, he was an old-school straight-ahead kicker, not soccer style.

Reggie was a good baseball player as well. Supposedly other schools told him he couldn't play baseball in college while playing football but Hayden told him that it was no problem. He played zero baseball at Iowa.
