I just can’t muster interest in preseason top 25 lists. I definitely understand the general interest in it, but I’m always way more interested in seeing which highly rated team ***** the bed out of the gate.

I learned quite a bit about several teams listening to it.

beyond the obvious - nd, clemson, uga, texas, lsu, ohio state, penn state - i suspect you can put thirty other teams in a paper bag and select from it the other final thirteen top 20 coming as close to correct as these expert preseason forecasts. there's just a lot of parity beyond the elite.

This is what makes the 12 team (soon to be 16 team) playoff so much more fun.

For the last 20 years we have been like Iowa fans have been for that last 100 years. Knowing we were not going to have a "chance"

Now, it is literally just a race to 10 wins. 10 wins and you are in.

Sort of like with March Madness where for the most part you just need 20+ wins and/or a winning record in conference and you are in and you have a chance.

It is all about making the playoffs.

Miami won 10 games and they were not in.

Sure, there will be exceptions at times but if you are in the Big Ten and get to 10 wins you are probably getting in 90% of the time.
Ole Miss being upset by Florida after beating 3 ranked Georgia allowed Indiana to get it.

Ole Miss would have knocked Indiana out.
