Wow, this board is effing dead, nothing going on here, might have to look elsewhere.
Yes I am going to the kids practice. If it rains I probably will not go the practice.
Have to agree with you nothing like the Rivals board but as long as we can get then to join up on this bar as as it’s obviously free … this board could be great… just give it a tad like a week before the fist game should pick up nicely

Part of the problem is that the majority of the posters are busy crying about politics over on HROT, and it is exclusively why they migrated to this board, because they need their daily fix of political bullsh** venting.....................sad, but true.
I think it’s insane that sports sites even include off-topic (political) boards.
But I suppose conflict drives traffic, so there’s that.
Well, I'm sure it started out as a means to keep "off topic" traffic down on the sports forums. Nobody on a FB board cares about what kind of toilet paper you prefer or what states are worse than Iowa for vacationing (the correct answer is 'all of them'......)
But as politics continued to become more and more divisive in this country, and the user base on message boards got older and older and crankier, the shift went from random butt jokes, rank 'ems and wouldjas to an almost (okay, not almost....a very much) addict-like daily dose of sh**-posting about "MAGA = NAZIS" and "libtards are turning this country into p***ies!!!" and "everything 'current X president' does is wrong and you should feel bad for voting for him!!!"
That's where all the other posters are at right now................Neat, huh.
If we get through the day without any "can't have nice things" moments it will be a f***ing miracle worthy of going to church to personally thank God for giving us an extremely rare f***ing break........
The completion percentage was one big thing they've talked about that they wanted to see improvement in from Gronowski
Friend coaches HS ball got to see a spring scrimmage and I remember asking him what young guys stood out. He said both FL early enrolled freshman. Dean who I’m not sure is LB or playing S but said physically they don’t look like freshman. Thinks McNeil 3rd best rb. Question is does Iowa do what they did with moulten 2 years ago and play in 4 or less to preserve RS or not.

I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say, but I suspect it's true that some people believe saving democracy and promoting decency is more important than even college football. Just spitballin'. There's more, but I'm headed over to the board where they're talking about real life instead of games. C'mon over if you dare.
If McNeil can contribute, I’d rather they just play him. If he’s that good eventually, he may not stay 5 years anyway or could get hurt.
based on the snaps i watched either offense is about as good as it was under brian or defense is rock solid. somewhat reassuring to me, coz i want a superb defense even more than a competent offense.
That’s not encouraging. I hope somebody has something good to say about the offense today. I was finally starting to get hopeful
Does anybody really think that Iowa is going to run anything but a base offense at an open kids day?
I got there really late and only saw the 3rd/4th team guys play. I don't think there was anything close to a TD. Stevens hit an absolute bomb to end. It was 50 yards and it would have been good from 65... easily. It hit the top 1/4 of the net.
So expect lots of 17-10 type of games once again. Awesome.

Lester went on record yesterday saying they won't run anything new. Some guys are out too. This was just a vanilla practice to get some reps in and put on a show for the fans. A lot of us just wanted to see Mark and the WR room in action, and that's what we got today.
There's been some buzz about him the past week or so. Lester commented that he's had a terrific fall camp so far. He showed out well today too according to those who attended today's scrimmage.
I thought Brown looked good today. I was not expecting much out of him and he proved me wrong. Displayed pretty good accuracy today, though it is just a fall practice.
Gronowski looked pretty good too, along with Brown. We had a couple bad snaps and a fumbled exchange with the RB when he was in, maybe not his fault? We need to get that cleaned up before we step into clown world. He has good accuracy, knows when there is an opportunity to tuck and run. We will see him hit his WRs in stride, and he will pick up first downs with his feet. He had one long throw that looked like a wounded duck but was right on the money for one of the biggest gains of the day.
Also, there was a throw that looked like he was getting his arm hit as he threw but he must have gotten it off just in time and perfectly hit his WR for a nice gainer. Showed some nice poise on that play in particular.
do you think Hank can challenge for the starting spot or is mark locked in?
