Preseason rankings are based on perceived talent,Rutgers roster is full of question marks,While the defense might be better the offense will be lucky to score 65 points,Last season Rutgers had a very disappopintingn record with two highly rated players now playing in the NBA.This season will be back hoping for overachieving to record a winning record.

Looks like Andy is clearly off the Rutgers bus. Cannot say I blame him after last year's debacle. New AD's first tough decision may come after this basketball season. Hopefully, she is as advertised as a master fundraiser of NIL. She can maybe provide competitive NIL funds for 2026-27 and tell Pike that the season is do or die for his job. Of course, she has to deal with the big flaming turd of Pike's contract left behind by the prior horny toad AD.

Even if Pike gets fired, it will cost a fortune to find next head coach unless you find a young rising head coach that will jump at the opportunity of getting to B1G.

Everyone is off the bus, and with good reason.

Our hope is that the staff identified a group of players that will compliment each other well and make the whole way greater than the sum of it's parts. We aren't going to out talent many teams in the B1G this year. Doesn't mean we still can't have a respectable season.

Not happy , but not panicking .
What the pre season predictions say often are far off the mark and the good predictions turn into average to poor results while the terrible teams wind up doing good things.
Pike had a team expected to do great things because of two talents on roster.
It was bad.
Now bad things are expected to happen with them gone, but good things might come RU;s way because Pike might have the type of roster Pike's coaching brings out the best from

RU isn’t even close to being in the conversation with either team you mentioned. Try using some teams in our range like Washington last year.
Really? I thought Rutgers was right up there with Kansas, UConn and Florida. Bummer.

Ok ... seriously. I'm well aware those teams are not our peers.

My point simply was that he was wildly off on many of his predictions last year. And if he couldn't get those highly studied blue-blood teams correct, how much effort did he put into analyzing the other 160+ teams?

Did he go to Romania and Bosnia to see what, for all anyone knows at this point, could be 2 of our better players in Zrno or Badalau play in person? I'm guessing that's a no.

Gotcha…living off large quantities of hopium in an attempt to stave off the inevitable truth that this won’t be a very good team.

Nobody knows what this team will be and maybe that’s a good thing. No let downs, no expectations, just see what happens. If it’s a bust, our new AD will make the move. Maybe that’s best at this point.

This was his final prediction on the eve of the season last year. He was not wildly off.

You guys are in complete denial. The 14 win bus is pulling out of the station in a couple months, still time to buy seats. He's DOA and has been since the Princeton disaster.

14 wins will be a stretch. Especially when they will likely just be playing out the string in the second half of the season.

the Princeton games the last couple seasons really exposed Pike IMO. Same goes for the ND first four game. Pike has no idea how to defend motion offenses.

Kinda seems like there are the first 12 and then 6 really bad teams. This is actually cause for optimism because I thought we were clearly #18. Maybe we can do well enough to make the Big 10 Tournament.

How do you feel now about Katz's prediction now as well as Zrno and Badalau?
