I have no idea who or what Cactus Wrestling is. They have - wait for it - 219 subscribers. Anyhow, they seem to want to break up Penn State wrestling.

Imagine how these Cactus Guys would have felt if they had lived through the Celtics reign of titles or the Yankees title runs. No mention is made about wrestlers wanting to attend PSU or for that matter, any of the most successful programs. Recency bias and lack of perspective causes these gentlemen to miss the impact of past successful programs in the sport. PSU won't always be the NCAA Team Title winner. Unlike these two commentators, some coaches have set "whining" aside in favor of recruiting and developing a team that will be able to dethrone PSU. Indeed, this is the competition that makes winning so sweet.

Every sport has, needs a dynasty to set the bar. There has to be someone to make the mark that others reach for. They do eventually because that’s nature. The pursuit of excellence is in all of us and it’s malpractice if one who is so gifted doesn’t take a shot when given the chance. These kids have grown up dreaming of wrestling for Penn State. They all say it. As little kids they dreamt of it. Now they are one of the few who can fulfill that dream. It sucks for everyone else but it’s evolution and the sport will be better for it.

You beat me to it, the Iowa run is OK? Okie State was dominant for a time. Typically some team, with a great coach, dominates their sport.

These guys need to get out of the basement and breathe some fresh air.
They’re young. That probably don’t know about other runs. Just a guess though.

Great point. Other than Tom Ryan, I don’t feel like any other coach whines about PSU. Even the Brands brothers take their beating like a man. Sure, their mat side antics are laughable, but they don’t whine in the media, they just try to get better.

If the Cactus guys don’t like PSU dominance, next year is going to be tough to watch 😆
