As someone who works from home and has small children, I rarely dress up anymore which means I'm mostly in athleisure gear all the time. If I leave the house it's mostly to run an errand or something that doesn't require a change, but athleisure wear isn't really made for wallets. I went on a search for a very thin wallet with magsafe that would attach to the back of my iPhone, and after trying about a dozen wallets I couldn't be happier with the one I selected. The catch is you probably need to limit yourself to 3-4 cards and a few bills, but if you can do that then this is the perfect wallet. Priced at only $15, too.

I can't figure out how to insert a link yet. But it's the ESR MagSafe Wallet, 5-card holder magnetic wallet on Amazon

It was an old joke making fun of Rashad McCants’ tattoos but no one got it anymore so I felt like it was as good a time as any for a makeover.
I'm considering changing my username too. When I created it (25 years ago? wow), I didn't even know there was a town called Winterville. It was a radio show host's last name that I happening to be listening to the day I registered. Not very well thought out in hindsight.

Products that I endorse...

Cracklin Oat Bran: A bit more expensive than the average cereal, and in a smaller box, but very good. Especially with some frozen fruit added in (which brings me to)...

Wyman's Mango Berry frozen fruit. Great in cereal (see above). Love the side benefit that it makes the cereal cold in the summer. Also good for smoothies.

Daisy ranch dip (and french onion). Good flavor but also a much better consistency than something like Dean's.

True Classic T shirts. They fit better and last a long time. I've had a lot of the plain white for sleeping and for undershirts but I also have a ton of the solid colors for everyday wear.

Bombas socks. I hate having cheap socks that bunch up and don't stay in place around the toes, etc. Bombas, IMO, are pretty good for keeping those things straight. I used to have some Adidas socks that were good but the later Adidas socks that I've bought haven't been as good.

I think I actually mentioned COB on the previous thread, but excellent shout out. My Great-Grandmother used to always have it in the house when we were young and it was one of the great treats about visiting her. I don't ever eat cereal anymore, but every few years I'll buy a box of it for nostalgia. I'm always surprised how few people know about it, but you're right that it's more expensive than competitors and it's in a smaller box, so most people aren't going to take a flyer on it. It's worth every penny, though.

Agreed. It also makes a good quick and healthy snack for kids. Pour some in a cup and away they go.

Your definition of healthy and mine must differ greatly, lol. 3/4 cup contains 30% of daily sugars, 18% of saturated fat, and 230 calories.

By comparison, 3/4 cup of Cinnamon Toast Crunch (which no one would argue is healthy) has 18% of daily sugars, 0% saturated fat, and 120 calories.

Yeeesh. I assumed it was healthier than that. That's what I get for assuming.

Anybody here wear Birddogs? Or have good suggestions for a quality less expensive alternative ?
I hate buying clothes (pants in particular) without trying them on first. BD’s are expensive and I don’t mind paying for them if they are worth it, but I just hate the hassle of ordering online and not knowing how they will fit and then dealing with online returns.

Retired my name as well as it was a reference to something in 2003
I did the same. Couldn’t believe how long it had been since that paunchy dookie in a speedo tried to distract from behind the basket while our guys were shooting free throws. Jackie Manuel flat out laughed at him while on the line. In 2005.

I found that Bombas wore out at the toes way too quickly to justify the price. Switched to Pro Mountain low cut socks with a wide toe box. Less expensive, give my toes room to move, don’t budge all day and hold up really well.
And yea, I’m 70 also as of yesterday. I’m all about comfort and value.

I'm sure Bombas are fine socks, but it's a ridiculous price for marginal returns. $50 for four pairs of low cut socks? Get serious. Every few years I'll throw all of my athletic socks away and find a good pack of black, low cut socks on Amazon and I'll order them in bulk. I don't even have to fold them after they're laundered. They go in the sock container in my dresser drawer because they're all identical.

I ordered two packs (24 total pairs) of these And1's 2.5 years ago and they've been great. 97% polyester. 3% spandex. You get 24 pairs for the price of 4 pairs of Bombas.

ETA: I'm still trying to figure out linking on this new software. Here is the link.

Normally I'd agree with this kind of logic but 1) I've certainly found Bombas for cheaper than 4 for $50. 2) "Marginal returns" needs to include the prevented wasted time and money of taking a chance on some cheapo pack from Amazon only to realize that it's crap. And when/if you are lucky enough to find some cheapos that are decent (like your And-1's and the Adidas that I mentioned above), the next time you get around to trying to find them to re-buy, there is a chance that they won't be available or the quality won't be as good. I speak from experience.

That's Amazon or the seller's problem when I take advantage of their free returns; not mine. I bought 8 wallets on Amazon in June in search of the perfect one for me. Returned the other 7.

Yeah the return policy is pretty convenient but I think I also mentioned the cost of spending the *time* having to go through that rigmarole.

This brand has a cult like following in the old skater community. Love their socks. Swear by their insoles.

Any particular appliance brands that you guys recommend? Hopefully I'm not in the market for anything soon but I will pass along that I've been really happy with our KitchenAid dishwasher. It can hold a ton of dishes, and everything about it seems well designed. Really quiet operation, etc.

I've had several other dishwashers.. The one that came with the house started sounded like a airplane taking off, and then another we had died after just a couple of years (but which never really worked out well anyway.. It didn't fit many dishes conveniently, and some of the parts felt really cheap despite the not-cheap price, etc).

I too have a KitchenAid dishwasher and really like it. Ended up "settling" for it after initially wanting a Bosch, but was back during the supply chain crisis and it was going to be a 3 month wait for those.

Like yours our old model was super loud and distracting since our kitchen is open to our living area. For that reason was looking for something ultra quiet and Bosch is supposedly the best on that front, but been pleasantly surprised with the KitchenAid.

They're one of the ugliest shoes ever created, but damn if I don't love my Oofos. Someone recommended them to me a couple of months ago because I was having some plantar fascia issues, and I've basically lived in them all day ever since. I did have to promise my wife they will never leave the house, though. I went with the Bauer edition ones because they felt more masculine with a hockey brand on the side, but they're all incredibly ugly so it's like trying to pick your favorite 3 to take home from the bar at 2AM.

My MIL is a canning nut. She does assorted veggies, pickles, bbq sauces, jams, jellies, preserves and salsas. She is also a beekeeper. Their Bosch dishwasher works hard from late summer through the fall washing jars and whatnot. She overloads the ish out of it every time. They’ve had it four years now. If I ever had to buy a new dishwasher, Bosch would be the one.

We just installed a Bosch 2 weeks ago. IT's been absolutely amazing so far. Much quieter than our previous 8 year old GE and definitely cleans better.
