Well the Grit and Grind podcast picked James Kenan, one did anyways. He said the JK defense wasn’t good they were great.

I told you Goob that the game you came to see was the worse game we had played all season. And the Kinston game was a game where we didn't finish drives, and we found ourselves in a dog fight. But our defense has been great all season, and I knew it would be after we scrimmage S. Nash and went toe to toe with them, and didn't give up a score. So tomorrow night is going to be interesting to see if our defense is up for the challenge. Tbh i think they will be. LET'S GOOOO TIGERS

My final thoughts on the game- my initial prediction here was NE by 3 tds. as the week has drug on I believe more and more that JK can win this game. I agree with the grit and grind guy, this tiger defense isn’t just a good Defense it’s an elite defense, led by #4 kornegay. I know NE has studs but this guy is a game changer. JK held kinston passing attack to 140 yards and WRH rushing yards to 150 and under 3 yards per carry last week. That’s elite. And they pass the eye test in my opinion. They’re fast and strong. On the other hand, NE offense is very elite. Putting 40+ on almost every opponent all year long. As explosive as any offense in 2a. Jones is smart, and a good athlete. Looks like #0 Saunders is a great player at receiver too, as well as several other great athletes at both receiver and tailback. The matchup between the JK defense and the Northeastern offense is gonna be fun. Northeastern is much improved on defense as well this year. This game is gonna be very fun all around. I think we can call these the best 2 teams in 2a east at this point so this game feels pretty big. I will definitely be making the trip. Good luck to both teams! Expect some great football

My honest trying to be unbiased prediction:

I see two routes-

The first, the tigers are going to be rolling off momentum, as someone said, you don’t beat wrh just to lose the next game. Look at ED’s win. With that being said, even with all the momentum in the world, NE isn’t a team that’s going to be shut down off of it. Our strong point is the defense, every air raid team we’ve played ends up with #9, #55, #5, #61 and the most scary #4 being in the backfield hawking the QB. Unless NE OL comes different, I don’t think NE athletes will be able to out match ours, not without the help of the OL. That being said, our offense isn’t a pudding pop O either. Recent years we’ve seen this offense rolling but then pulling the 9mm out and shooting them selves in their own darn foot. This years different, the fumbles and penalties on offense have been very clearly cleaned up. If the offense gets going early we should be fine. But this buzz abt NE defense makes me break a little bit of a sweat. I don’t like to use this argument because it may seem like I’m down playing that defense, BUTTTTT we still haven’t seen this defense go up against a nasty cruel smash mouth offense. If this goes as stated, 28-25 JK.

Now the second route, the tigers feel the pressure and let it get to them, regardless of this I’m not quite worried about our defense, it’s more so our offense. We need them to really go hit some junkers in the mouth and everything will be fine. What I’ve seen be our biggest weakness so far is our kicking game. This is no shot to our kicker, he’s a soccer player who stepped up to the moment has been able to keep us going. BUTTT his missed fg against WRH in the first game ended it for us instead of pushing it to OT. The second game I can’t fully say it was his fault, looked like all of the bulldogs were in his face, I’m sure the blocking will be better this time around. If we make mistakes on special teams and can’t get this offense rolling I think NE will take it.

I’ve been giving **** to some NE posters all week but in all honesty NE is a great team who is capable of beating any remaining team. But these tigers prosper and shine when they feel over looked. They take any opinion against them personal and that’s good, they use it as fuel to go and knock your words right out of your mouth. Just ask @Darkhorse#34. At the begging of the season they made a chart shouting out some dogs from the JK fb team, the ones who were left out of it went to midway and made them feel silly for overlooking them.

All in all this game is going to be good and there’s nothing left to say or do other than to let them play ball.

I didn’t mean it as “slight” at you or your guys. I enjoy loading yall up on Wednesday, and I never personally overreacted because it’s hard to pull 5 players out of a team who has more than 5 “dogs”. I was using the situation as an example of them performing when their doubted or overlooked.

Dawg front 7 is funny. I just watched some highlights of the Martin County game and I dont see a dawg front seven. I see a couple good Linebackers and that’s it. Half the DL doesn’t move. Lol

man i really do like to stay unbiased and out of **** talk for the most part. But go ask wallace rose hill if our front 7 is dawgs. i agree a couple dlinemen get tired and dont go hard sometimes. But we held WRH to their lowest yards of the season with actually only 5 or 6 in the box.we played 2 safeties i think fir most the game. this a team that just gashed a solid SWE front the week before. we held em to less than they ran for against hoggard and havelock by a good bit. i think that qualify as pretty dang good on the defensive front. that being said, we clearly havent seen a outside attack like NE this season. IMO kinston receivers are just as good as NE but their QB doesnt do nearly as good a job getting them boys the ball. will be a huge test for us. wouldnt want nothing else round 4

The front 7 has a combined 20 sacks on the season and 120 TFL. Out of the sacks 14 are from the d line.
