I think they are a lot better at home. I still think they should be favored in this game. The Monroe QB looks quick enough to offset the good front 7 for Shelby

Just read on "X" from the guy who covers Union County high school sports that Monroe 4 Star DB Jordan Young has switched his commitment from Clemson to Michigan.
And seems like the coaching staff is refusing to adapt to whatās going on in CFB.
Based off of his offer list it would seem that he wouldāve ended up at a big school regardless?
For one thing Dabo doesn't use the Portal at all. It might not be a great thing but to continue as a power in College football he's going to have to use it.
That's true, remember few years back Crowder from Monroe made good choice going to Duke. Played in NFL

Yep, he got a lot more playing time and more views from NFL scouts by going there instead of riding the bench a couple years at a major college football school.

Watched a few games of Monroe
1st Porter Ridge, and Forest Hills were 2 best teams they played this year.
With P. Ridge going 5-6 and FH still playing.
I see Monroe gets lots of penalties.
Also there special teams is good, they either get punt return or kick off return in each game.
You have to wrap up playing them if not they make u pay.
Qb looks to throw shorter passes and let 2-4 and 5 go too work.
I do see they can be ran on, most up the gut.
Alot of their points are off your mistakes.
With that i still feel if we play fb with out mistakes and penalties we will be fine.
No. 1 rb should be back, but our no. 2 had over 135 yards this week..
Shelby has 5 good rec. That D-1 db cant cover them all.
Our Qb will have to play lights out..
Notice he looked alot better this week on that foot.

Every body wanna talk about Monroe classification.. out of our almost 1200 students 800 is Hispanic and those kids donāt play football or basketball.. so out of the other 400 Monroe is only picking from prolly 200 boys to play football.. the other 200 is girls.. So to be honest Monroe really playing 1A ball if you look at it.. Monroe just has some dawgs in their little small community and a great Head Coach to competeā¦

That was my point bro. If I tell an honest opinion I may get in trouble for not saying Shelby will destroy them or win. lol I already said I would not be surprised if you won but it depends on a few things and adjustments. For the record I would not be mad or let down in any way if you guys won that game. My team lost but had a good season considering a lot of things and I am in no way a hater on success. You definitely wonāt get any hating on Monroe from me. Played you guys in 2016, probably the coldest game I ever attended. It was a rare occasion where I actually walked onto the field after the game. There were plenty of ādap upsā between the players, and the HC was class personified. Not only did he shake hands with our HC, he congratulated individual Shelby players as well. I spoke about it on here, after that game. If Monroe does win, I will be definitely pulling for them to bring the 2A state title back to the 704.

Thanks for the clarification. Rumors spread fast. I had heard that the JV was QBing and asked why didn't Warlick go back to QB since he started the season there and was told he was used as a receiver in different spots. Also heard the RB1 was definitely out...smh. On a 2A team, 1 player can make a huge difference especially if they play both ways. I am sure the loss of McGowan played a big role.
Heard it from a Burns fan that wasn't at the game. Thought it would be reliable info.
Would have blown Burns out, regardless. They were severely limited, due to not having a true quarterback, literally a linebacker playing quarterback. Had no passing game whatsoever. That formula gets you a round, two if youāre lucky.

After we beat you guys in 2021, you fell completely off the grid, to the point that I created a thread to see if anyone amongst Da Villeās posters knew you, and could possibly do a wellness check on you.
You were āghostā, account inactive, and it felt cold just thinking about you. I canāt blame you for hating, though, and looking for Shelby to lose, so ready to rub our noses in it. Heck, Iām still smoking good on my end. That good ole āram packā still blowing strong.
Shelby has a rich tradition and a tremendous community following. Not just talking about game attendance, but the championship fabric that lives 365 days per year. I have always been impressed with their discipline and unselfish team first attitude. I think coach Wilbanks has done an incredible job and this Monroe contest should be a thriller to watch.

I appreciate your honest takes and full transparency. I think Shelby has definitely progressed, and can win, if we play mistake free football. I also think we could lose by two tds. We are young in critical spots.
Monroe looks like a vintage, primed championship Shelby team of the past. They are senior laden. They are strong against the pass, so the Shelby running game will be critical. Iām prepared for whatever, but wasnāt going to let 7 weeks of playing āCherryvilleā influence my confidence. Monroe is a different animal.
