SWE hosts county rival North Edgecombe. This should be an easy one for the home team, but I sure would love to see NE get back to its glory days. They used to be the standard for 1A football in the east. Their trophy case backs that up.

Gotta find out who our QB is. I have never seen a Cougar pass a ball as pretty as he does. Super tight spiral, and on the money each time. And he understands the assignment. On the corner of the end zone td, instead of waiting to see the receiver at the spot, he had the ball on the way before the receiver got there. I know, I know....that's how it's supposed to be. But efficient passing is foreign at SWE.

There's always been trouble when SW and RM play in regards to fan behavior. And since Varnell came from RM I doubt he would add them. Southern brings a good crowd and we should schedule them the years we play y'all in Tarboro

I didn't buy into the Nash Central hype last year. I don't deny that they were good. Definitely can't deny the whipping they gave us...early, before we found our groove. But I'm still not sold on them being east contenders.

Clinton got smoked tonight. If they brought back some talent, they could make some noise. My guess is WRH or Northeastern come out of the east this year

Agree 100%. SWE and Tarboro playing NE benefits no one. Does the county school board require SWE and Tarboro to play NE? If not, this game needs to be dropped by both schools ASAP. I can't imagine this is a good game in terms of the gate. Why would anyone want to go to a boring blow out with a running clock? A game like this does not help SWE or Tarboro prepare for tougher games down the road. And it does nothing for the confidence of the NE players when they are losing 50+ to nothing. Of course, I also place some blame on NE for allowing their program to fall this low. They were a power under Coach Cobb and I don't get how they can fall as much as they have from their glory years. I know they do OK in their own conference. But they get destroyed when they face tougher teams.
