Why?
It will be same teams.
Split conference
Two questions. If there are seven classifications, where do you think the dividing line will be between 1A and 2A? And where do you think it should be?Andrews 210

You could be right. I think the difficulty will be where the dividing lines are in the three largest classification. In your scenario, Thomasville would be 2A (640). Our future would be determined by whether we are paired with similar Davidson/ Randolph, Davidson/Rowan or Davidson/Guilford schools. That’s where geography and two year realignment would get chaotic for us.Around 405 if Charters stay . I think they will.
That's 64.

Me too. There is one under some thread, but can’t remember which. When I looked at it previously 640 was well below 3A if the total number of schools were divided by 7. I can’t imagine that with the 1A/2A line at 405, 235 more students would put a school in 3A.I'm not sure 640 will be 2a.
I wish someone would make a list of the smallest 128 schools. That should be the 2a/3a line.
In looking at his numbers, it was in fact football schools only. That’s the the determiner, rather than 6 or 7 classes.Looks like Thomasville will be 2a as of today. Only four other 2a teams will be bigger. So in 2 years when this all start Thomasville will probably be 3a if they don't loss more kids. Even still if five more charters start up in the next two years they will be 3a.
bk, of these 62 it looks like 23 have football. Does that mean they would combine with 2a?
His numbers came from HSOT. I do think 624 is where they ended the year. Haven’t you preferred a football only alignment in the past, or did I misremember that? I personally don’t.624 is the number they used for Thomasville.
Not 640
If 1A tops out at 450, Thomasville being 3A would mean the range for 2A would only be 451-623. I just can’t see that happening. With just a quick glance at the numbers you provided, I only count 43 schools between 450 and 623. Even less if the top of 1A is 500. It appears to me that Thomasville will easily be in 2A, along with schools such as Mount Airy and Eastern Randolph.I think they will go 7a for all sports during the regular season. During playoffs for wrestling
1a,2a, and 3a combine. 4a and 5a combine.
6a and 7a combine for three playoff brackets.
Football might combine 1a and 2a for playoffs.
That would be 6 classes.
Basketball will be 7 classes.
This wouldn't affect the conferences. They probably going do regions instead of conferences.
Of course we can only guess at this point but I could see Thomasville being small 3a. Depends on how many new schools start up the next three seasons.
I was going on your 450-500 scenario. I counted 102 schools smaller than Thomasville. If they stick with the 64 they have consistently mentioned, that means 38 2A schools smaller than Thomasville in 2A doesn’t it? So, could be 25 larger to get to 64 in 2A.But the numbers say 1a tops out at 416.
2a 417-657 that is 64. That puts only 8 2a schools bigger than TVille. That means if 9 new schools start in the next three seasons TVille will be 3a. Not to mention if the classes has 62 instead on 64. I could see several schools starting in the next few seasons.

Do all of the schools you listed for 1A play regular 11 man football? Maybe that’s right, but seems unlikely to me.That would make 1a bigger than 64. That's not going happen.
So the ones in the link are only football schools? In that, we’re 103rd.No the schools listed don't all have football
That's the point. I'm doing it as 7 classes for all sports. Thomasville is 120th biggest.
What are your thoughts on what the numbers in the link represent? Just football schools?Yeah I could've just put 1a with 7 classes.
My bad
Okay, so now I’m even more confused. So does either list include schools that don’t have athletics at all?All schools not just football schools
Half those below 416 don't have football.
Several above 416 don't have football either.
The linked list has us 103rd from the least. The one in order shows 120th. That’s the part I’m trying to understand. No
My list is copied from the list in the link so it's the same list. I just put it in order
