Those kids are originally from Yadkin and played in the Starmount feeder schools until they got to high school age. They went to Reagan for their own reasons and decided to come back. Don’t understand the get more from Reagan comment?
Are you Elkin fan? If so, i remember Elkin use to have their share of transfers from 2002-06 when they were winning small 1A State Titles.Well they played for Reagan last year right? Dont know how originally being from Boonville changes that statement. I love how teams get transfers throughout highschool....people say something about it... And the counter is always yeah but they used to play here so its not a transfer or there grandpa is from here or something. The whole transferring from school to school in all high school sports stinks in my opinion. Wish kids couldn't pick and choose where they want to play year to year is all im saying. Congrats on the hire, wish we could turn things around at the top of the mountain but I dont see that happening anytime soon.
If your a great player playing for small School. College scouts should know it. They will find you.I am also very happy for Starmount and their new hire (despite liking their previous coach a lot).
However, the constant back and forth on transferring of players/students is a bit much. As I have posted on here many times, I have feelings both ways on this AND I have had to make the parental decision about a son transferring.
Having made that very difficult decision, my older son moved from a smaller outstanding program to a larger good program. It resulted in a four year football scholarship that he NEVER would have gotten if he stayed at the smaller program. That decision came from one and only one reason- The tunnel vision of the Head Coach.
When a player goes from not getting any chance to play a position to a scholarship for playing that position at a 3A program (rather than not at a 1A program), the parent has a role and a responsibility.
Now I am not for players moving randomly, or parents demanding this or that for their sons or daughters. But there are times that a parent does, and should do, what is in the best interest of the child.
Still, to this day I am not sure, all things considered, that I did the right thing. It was right at the time, he proved it on the field. But 25 years later....... he and I still wonder.
Well I don't think that's necessarily recruiting. You were not in a great situation. You made it better. Winning brings people in. Looks like you chose a winner.I am also very happy for Starmount and their new hire (despite liking their previous coach a lot).

Yes. Don't remind me. Having to stop and tell the kids that he's not taking the job or that he took his name out. What a jackass. I think we're all about fed up with his sorry but. He didn't take his name out. The biggest knock on him by the committee that they thought he would be leaving in a few years for the next best thing.I bet lowman at east surry is getting frustrated. Keep hearing he put in for several jobs and it doesn't look like any has worked out yet
i thought he retired ? Why would he leave Kings Mountain ? Seems like he had them at the top ?
