first three games are against 2A and 4th game against 3A. First three are in county absolute money games. And Ashe County is growing and developing their program. Hope we do not loose any players to injury as we did last year in these first 4 games.

I don't think they need to change their schedule. I think except for about three or four teams 1A is pretty bad. No sense in getting kids hurt before the playoffs. Just beat everybody as bad as you can within reason then get to the playoffs.

With Elkin a conference game, this schedule keeps all 5 county school gate money in the county which is 16 games a year on rotating bases going to the Mount Airy and some of the other county schools on top of the other out-of-county home games. Minus Elkin, I can't remember Mount Airy, North Surry, East Surry & Surry Central not playing each other other than East Surry's 1st year in 2A and MA played Draughn 2021. Someone's memory is probably better than mine these days.

More than likely MT Airy shoud beat East Surry, but other match up will be run the clock.

All 4 Surry County schools are on this schedule, East Surry, Mount Airy, North Surry & Surry Central. Mount Airy has 2 home games & 2 away games which should be good gate games for the schools.

Sorry, it hit me this morning as I woke up that there are 5 Surry County schools on this schedule, Two 1A Elkin & Mount Airy, & Three 2As East Surry, North Surry & Surry Central. I left out Elkin when I wrote the post.

Not hard to do with how utterly terrible they've become since 2010. Hard to believe how bad that program has fallen. Even though they're enrollment looks like it's getting up close to 500. What a terribly run athletic program which all starts with football. They have more sports than some 4 a schools

My guess is Elkin's enrollment is up because of the virtual academy they have.

They had one really good Qtr. But they did put more points on Mount Airy than any 2022 team, including Tarboro.

I think they had a hell of a running back didn't they? That was pretty much it. Once Mount airy decided to stop him it was pretty much over.

That doesn't like it took them three quarters It was like it took them the third quarter since they were winning what 21 to seven at halftime.? Looks like it was a new wrinkle. Pretty well coached team in Ashe county so they obviously came out and did something they hadn't seen.

MA was missing Danby and Ashe QB was hitting his receivers big time. This game did MA wonders it showed them that they couldnt just show up that they had to keep their focus.
