Not at all. Both kids was on reduced lunch for a good while. I think you already knew the answer. Your trying to muddy the water. You might not get it though. Like percentages!

I have not problem with free lunch. It's a good thing. I do have a problem with free lunch being used to determine your class in sports.
Mostly in football.

I would like to see a study to see if there is a wide scale lack of success in athletics for schools with a high number of students on free lunch.

To be honest all schools should be on free lunch and this shouldn't be a point of discussion.

You didn't have to mention the 7 points.....lol.... I thought it was more though..lol
I’m sorry, it was no more than 7 a game, 20 points allowed in a 3 game span against them lol. They were still a great football team, Tarboro just had Edenton numbers dating back to 2011.

After the East Surry game this team has really matured and continued to get better every week. The Bears very capable of putting up 30+ on Tarboro. Mt Airy has the best defense that they have had in years. I think the Boys from Mayberry winning 31-21
Do the Mt Airy 2nd, 3rd string RBs get carries while they’re piling on 50-60 points or does #5 carry the load for the most part?

I remember when two east team represented the 1a state championship game!! Remember, when North Duplin beat all the west teams in the west bracket and played Plymouth in the 1a state championship???
I believe I qualified my answer with
"( with the current 1A schools )"
You can go in pass alignments and find situations like you're referring to but even then it would be the exception to the rule you can also go in the pass for years and years when not only the 1A was decided in the West but in one conference the SMC while in that time period the East dominated 2A.

#4 a Freshman #43 #8 were backs in most of 2nd half games.
MA has more kids that can run the rock besides Mason. #25 is a beast and can fly. Almost had 1,ooo yds and missed like 4-5 games.
Had over 5,000 yards rushing as a team. Mason has had around 2,200 of them.

I agree with that buzz. I also believe the bears will be the most physical team the vikes have seen. That line is quick and extremely physical . I got the bears by 7. It’s not what I see on tape that worries me with the vikes , it’s what I see on the side line with there coaching staff and the mentality of winning 5 of the last 6 state championships, I say the bears by 7 because of the intangibles. If it wasn’t for those I would say the spread would be similar to cal preps / Massey or DA PRINT.
Wanted to re-visit this because I’m interested in your opinion. What did you see on film that makes you confident that if It wasn’t for the Tarboro coaching, it would be a blowout?

Were you able to see a wide talent gap in favor of MA?

I have maybe even more an issue with the 3 year cup points average because you're successful in all around sports then you reward is being moved up to a high classification because apparently you're too successful in the classification that your ADM itself would put you in. Polk county appealed and got approved to move back to 1A they were moved up to 2A not because of ISP average but cup points which makes me wonder why East Surry didn't appeal their cup points looks like maybe higher than Polks which is why they got moved up but with less students than Polk must be much higher I guess their ISP it about the same.
But the ISP ( free or reduced lunch) while it basically comes down to the bigger then average the lower your ISP score but it's not cut and dry 3 year average is the most complicated part of the formula. Here's an article from 2020 explaining the formula for the realignment score.

Okay I apologize actually did start to that and probably should have.
Funny thing is every time I respond or just answer a question it's my post that you jump on how about doing that with the one's who ask the question or start the non thread topic in the first place instead next time. At least it's football related and initially concerning one of the schools in the game not the deer hunting or other non-football conversations that go on forever on other threads.

I would not rule it out. Especially since the Carolina Panthers owner is really pushing for it to happen. Money talks
I agree it's to big. Cater-Finley is the largest college football stadium in North Carolina but @ 57, 583 is still 17,829 seat smaller than Bank of America if it was in Charlotte should be at the college.
But if it was a in Charlotte even Bank of America I'd probably go watch it only a couple hours away plus I could just stay the night with my daughter but NCSU while I have a brother near there that's still just to far to see a game that doesn't involve my school.
I wish I could figure out who's carrying it in TV and if I could watch it no one is showing it online who will broadcast it.

Yes Tarboro which I gave them credit for and which again I mention they are the only team the East needs since they win about every year especially in the current alignment. But I was referring to the West vs the East as a whole and I even said it an unproval opinion you anyone else doesn't have to agree with it.
But blah blah great intellectual comeback.

I do agree about punishing teams for being successful. This isn't European soccer promotion.

We don't care about that!! I remember when the West and East would go back and forth for years.... J H Rose, Wallace, Plymouth, Williamston, James Kenan, Clinton, Tarboro, North Edgecombe, Havelock, New Bern, Wake Forest-Rolesville, and Southern Durham. The east may have falling off, but we have had our share.

And I'm not disagreeing about the pass until they got moved up to 2A Wallace Rose Hill was the big dog no disagreement about that.
And if you don't care about it then don't respond to it because the premise of the discussion and especially my response I was talking about West vs East on the whole and specifically in the current alignment it had nothing to do with the pass that where in playoff system that where every game in round one was a West team vs an East team and so on in the championship you still have a West vs Tarboro in the current alignment.
Yes in the past there would have been were you may have two East teams in the championship in that scenario but also in the past if you go back far enough there probably been two SMC teams in the championship for serval years.
Again just an opinion and just like you know what everyone has one.

Yeah, but you said that "You were referring to the East and West as a whole"... I understand the SMC thing. Say what you want, I believe Riverside, Northside-Pinetown, Rosewood, and a few other 1a schools would make noise in y 'all's conference.

If my basketball team went from #1 to Unranked in less than two weeks I would live in the past like that too 😂
They played like crap to begin last year too. Remember how that turned out? Or is thinking about that

I assume you mean West division my old school isn't in the SMC and I was referring to them when someone out of that conference before the A - AA split won it for years usually came down between Murphy and Swain.
And those three probably compete good in the playoff system I meationed didn't say there weren't any good teams in the East but just saying there are 34 West and 33 East football teams and from top to bottom as a whole that again just my opinion doesn't mean crap that the West has more teams that would win than the East in that case especially when you get in the later rounds and that in the end you'll still 9 out 10 times have a West team vs Tarboro.
But we can argue all day about our opinions but in the end it's doesn't matter can't and never will proven one way or the other.

Im sure these schools struggle in the “country club” sports like golf, tennis, baseball, lacrosses and soccer....I do agree that every student should get a free lunch

Unfortunately There’s way way more Tar Heel fans in Tarboro than Duke.

My grandpa used to have season tickets to Cameron back in the day so I grew up going to games with him back in the early 2000’s
I don't like ether one of them but I am definitely a ABC man Anybody But Carolina
