The BEARS & COACHES are more in control this year. Last year they were too young and lost control too many times. I say 14 to 21 better than Draughn. Draughn may be the one that loses control of what is coming. Could be wrong but JMO. Draughn has no experience this deep in the playoffs and may fool me. The BEARS need to go out and just keep pounding, they have the speed and size ! This game is in BEAR COUNTRY. Hopping for a clean injury-free game for both teams. I’ve been wrong about them all year. I just thought Mitchell’s defense sucked, but after last week Draughn may just be really good. If Mt. Airy can keep their composure when playing from behind or even and not throw an opponent’s shoe or other stupid penalties I expect they will win.
Mount Airy was young last year and had no team leadership. This year they have it and they take control. Down to ER 17-14 last week the leadership took and they beat the #!1 team in 1A 35-17 scoring 21 in the 4th Qtr. ER did not score in the 2nd half. BEARS did what it needed to do, control the game. Final score 35-17. # 1 did not score but 7 points in the 2nd half. I am not saying the same will this week but the BEARS get better every week and return them all next year, or the cream of the crop.
Right, easier to pull for the Green team or even Owen. Attitude has a lot to do with who I pull for.

Actually TD ER did score in 2nd half. Mt Airy led 14-10 before ER scored in 3rd quarter. Oops now I see where you said ER scored 7 in second half…

Draughn will be as fast as Mt Airy. It’ll come down to the trenches. I can’t see mt Airy being much better than Mitchell up front on defensive line. Mitchell missed the two linebackers from last year on defense. It’ll be a close one
I've been saying for most of the season that I expected Mt Airy to win the West but other than the just being right I'm pretty much Switzerland as far as pulling for anyone.
MA is better on D than last year. Quicker to the ball and very physical. You better have your head on a swivel. MA is all business.
I am looking forward to the game. Nothing against MA because i truly believe that they are the real deal but you have to realize that we have been hearing this exact same message for weeks. Playoffs: Mitchell- won that one then we heard the same about Thomasville, won that one then its Draughn's season will end at Andrews due to the overwhelming size and speed that they have but again we pulled out the win. I've watched about 7 hours of MA film and i agree that we haven't seen a team like this at all this year.

All MA fans thought Draughn would beat Thomasville and Andrews. Thomasville struggled against a bad Forbush team, We know Draughn is legit. This game will have to be earned for sure. MA at home is just different. We will have fans from all the other local schools. You may even have East Surry fans sitting on your side.
What's the elevation for Mitchell's stadium? Wikipedia says the elevation for West Jefferson is 3,000 feet and that's where Ashe's stadium is located.
I’m looking forward to it. I’m not sure if you have been to Andrew’s but last week the whole visitors side was full as well was the track with people standing and watching. I don’t know the exact numbers but there was 3 full charter buses of people from Burke there and it was a 3hr trip. I would assume since MA is only 100 miles we should travel well this week. I don’t think Andrew’s expected our band to show up
