A little back story. Back during spring ball(COVID year) Tarboro’s JV had to play Rosewoods’s JV. Tarboro only had about 14 players due to a couple of players being hurt and a few sick. The coaches were going to cancel the game but Rosewood said that they only had about 18 players available also to play so both coaches agreed to go ahead & play the game. Fast forward to the day of the game Rosewood comes out w/ about 30 players & some of them was playing on Varsity also. They tried to pulled a quick one on Tarboro. The game was tied up 12-12 in the fourth and a little drama happened where a bad call was made that helped Rosewood. Coach Craddock & Coach Babb were kicked out of the game. Rosewood won the game 20-12. The coaches haven’t forgotten that and some of the players now that’s on this team definitely haven’t. W/ that said….TARBORO BY 3 TDs OR BETTER!
I been looking at this message board for 6 years and never felt the need say anything. I just thought this needed to be cleared up when my son brought it to my attention. The Rosewood coaching staff has the most integrity and would never be involved in anything like this. This also diminishes the kids that played that day and had a victory. The kids you see with the varsity logo are playing under the 8th-quarter rule. Players who play JV and dress for varsity but rarely get in only if there are injuries or it’s a blow out. No varsity player played down that day or any other time. I can promise you the Rosewood coaching staff would never do anything like that. They would rather get blown out then to cheat in anyway. In the same video where the helmet stickers were mentioned you can also clearly see that Rosewood had 22 players and Tarboro had 18 a difference of 4 not 16. Tarboro has such a great history it does not need anything untrue to be part of it. May all the kids on both teams have a safe and memorable time.

Posted my statement because I felt like it was the injustice that our coaching staff were being portrayed as dishonest and unethical the complete opposite of who they are. If you read the original post it almost is unbelievable that any team would go to that length to win a JV game. In the beginning of the post It states that Rosewood came out with 16 more players than the Tarboro. The fact is Rosewood had 4 more players and that can be verified on NFHS network. My original post I believe covered everything. If it didn’t and you want to ask a specific question I’ll be glad to clarify. But I’m not trying to get in any back-and-forth or argument and I’m not accusing anybody of anything. If you think that I’m credible I ask that you not spread that story. Thanks

No worries, I know most of the guys from Tarboro who post here, and I value their thoughts and words. We can all be a little biased towards our teams, but that comes out of love for our programs.

The scores don’t matter in the hated (at least in the west) RPI rankings. Just WP, OWP and OOWP. Now in MaxPreps super secret sauce I do believe they make a difference. One of many reasons I have no use for their formula…

I can say this for certain, Tarboro isn't afraid of Wallace Rose Hill. And I fully believe we beat them in 17, 18, 19, and spring 21. Last season would have been tough along with this year. That dude really hates us for no reason at all. Probably threw a massive party when we lost to East Surry in 2019
Yeah I hate doing these comparisons. Wallace is a great program. Nothing but respect for those guys down there. We would’ve had some great games in those years with them.
But we had two opportunities to beat them and they got the better of us.

We are so crafty that after being in 5 straight 2A championship games, we manipulated our numbers so we could rule the 1A ranks forever. After WRH and James Kenan thwarted us for 4 years, we were able infiltrate Duplin County and somehow convince more people to live there and manipulate THEIR numbers to push them up to 2A. Even Qanon idiots would think it's asinine. I wish we had that kind of influence. We could have gotten Craddock the field house he always wanted. Instead, we can't even afford to get the stadium sound system rewired so we can hear Butch more clearly.

And don't forget we can't afford to get new bathrooms either.North Moore/Rosewood game there were several unsportsmanlike penalties for both teams. Rosewood instigated several of them so Tarboro needs to keep their cool. Us country boys can be pushed but so much before we start swinging. I hope Tarboro runs them in the ground.
They have a pretty decent kicker. He was putting them out the back of the end zone.
Hobgood Charter just got approved by the NCHSAA board to be placed in the conference that Tarboro is in. I know they have football - but are we actually going to have to play them? That will be worse than playing Jones Senior or RM Prep.

I really hope we don't have to play them. Would be over halfway through first quarter. One of the coaches told me our non conference opponents are on the schedule for the next several years though.

It would be a huge gate for both schools. Especially if it was in conference play. Really miss the atmosphere those games had.
So as far as I understand and what I’ve been told is that Tarboro will have to drop a non-conference opponent next year to accommodate the extra conference game with Hobgood.
I have a gut feeling unfortunately it's going to be hertford. Because for whatever reason we refuse to drop North edgecombe when it's usually a running clock every year
Having to playing Hobgood is a joke. I’m pretty sure they don’t even have visitor seating, and the visitor sideline is in someone’s backyard.

It really is a joke tbh. According to Google maps they're visiting seats are ridiculously small. Total joke. If I have to work the night of this game I wouldn't even be upset. Rocky Mount, southwest, and Riverside gonna be the only games that generate hype all regular season.
If anything I wish we could just get in the conference with Southwest and let that be a 1A/2A split.
People make posts about the Tarboro fans not being loud at the games - but it’s hard to be enthusiastic when the team you’re playing has no shot to win.
