If Bear D stays in this Qbs face they will be fine like they've done all season
Dula is Draughns main weapon this kid is good.
And if he hadn't missed basically the first 4 games (5 carries against HT) because of an off-season injury he would be well over 2000 for the year.
Draughn’s strength is on the line both sides of the ball. That’s the biggest line I’ve seen in 1A in sometime. From what I seen they are solid at every position and in all 3 phases of the game. Like previous comments they were spot on. Keep Qb in pocket and put pressure. Basically throws to a back out of backfield or little quick hits for 10 yds. RB is strong, shifty and has some speed. Like most games whoever wins the line of scrimmage wins this game
You might want to watch film on him or ask Mitchell. He’s been throwing bombs most of the year and also hitting receivers over the middle behind the Lbs. in this game you have to develop and adapt so what you saw Friday is what Andrew’s gave him. Reading the defense

I'm starting to get a feeling Mt airy and Eastern Randolph were 2 of the stronger teams In the west this year I may be fooled Friday night but we will see wondering if we should been seeded 1 and 2 in no particular order
I didn't do a deep dive into it I only saw one lineman from Freedom but he was easy to see because of his first name really stuck out. Seems I saw one or two others players who I didn't see on the roster last years but I don't know how much they play or anything. I wonder just how big one lineman was because he's BIG but his number isn't on the roster.
I think you might be talking about the big defensive lineman...I thought the same thing...Maxpreps has him as #75 but he is #99

99 was on the roster last year as 75. Born and raised in the school district.
Yeah I was going to post sometimes they put the wrong number beside the kids name but yeah #99 was who I was looking for.
Mt Airy concession stand sales hot dogs and after halftime they put the unsold ones on sale for a $1 (half price).
I might suggest they consider doing this at the end of the first quarter since the game will apparently be all but decided at that time if Draughn is as good as all the Draughn posters on here say.

I think everyone’s point was naming “illegal players/ transfers” that weee allegedly not on the team last year. MT Airy is solid and it will be a good game. Unless draughn fans say it count it as fake news lol
Correct they were huge all around plus there Qb could have played on line and very physical I'm thinking Mt airy should have been 2 seed at least playing Eastern this week
Weather says clear sky's Friday, temps in low 50's during day and down to 36 Friday night. Draughn fans may want to wrap up tight since Mt Airy does not have seat heaters on the visitors side.

As to ER big guys, I think almost every ER player was named either Paul or Bunyan or PB Jr. My lord they were big, strong and fast.
And it feels 5 degrees colder down on that river, especially with the wind blowing then even colder.
These days I see a lot teams with big lineman and sometimes the there's smaller guys who are actually better blockers or tacklers. Mitchell had 6 lineman this year that was 6'3" 220-250+ the biggest a sophomore 6'4" 284 but a 6'1" guy was probably the best lineman one year a 5'10" boy was Mitchell's lineman of the year. Good blocking technique ,knowing how to come off a block good instinct speed etc. I've seen huge lineman who came straight out of their stance and couldn't block a much smaller guy and on D they'd to that same thing and be slower than Christmas.
Mount Airy usually the BEARS don't let the huge guys bother them because of their speed.
Well it's not like Mt Airy is small I don't know how much they play but I see a 6'3" 233 a 6'4" 250 and a 6'5" 268.. you just don't see many teams that don't have some big youg'uns these days.
We actually looked "small" compared to the giants at Eastern Randolph. And if Draughn truly does not have but one portal transfer, we saw them last year. So maybe, we will be able to play with them for at least a little while. Hopefully enough for it to be a respectable game before Draughn goes on to play Tarboro. Because it certainly sounds like that is what they expect to do. I am all for positive thoughts.
A game that could have went either way. Draughn can score alot, but I think this week will be more like the Thomasville game. Draughn has a very good QB and RB. But the real strength of that team is those big Hogs up front. They have a very physical and large O/D line.
Well I didn't notice a huge difference between them and Mitchell size wise Mitchell's problem was poor tackling and inability to contain the QB when they had him the backfield and he'd make a move then run down the field or make a pass on the run it wasn't they weren't getting to him it's just poor execution once they but they had proper tackling issues all year.
One thing about it he good at running around in the back until he finds someone open your secondary will have to do a good job of sticking with their guy and the line and maybe linebackers will have to contain him from getting big runs if he can't find someone and decides to run.
The first ones to get to him (QB), tie his legs up and he can't go anywhere and the next ones take him down from the front if possible to block his passing. He can't scramble with his legs tied up. Sounds like a plan to me. LOL
Good plan but good luck. Kid hasn’t been sacked or hit in pocket much this fall bc the line is good. Maybe 4 sacks in 14 games.
